Welcome to Colton's Mock Draft Compilation, v. 7.0. Here are who the mock drafts are listing as the "best players". See below for details. It should give a pretty good idea of who will be available when the Jazz pick.

1 Kyrie Irving (formerly 1)
2 Derrick Williams (2)
3 Enes Kanter (3)
3 Brandon Knight (4)
5 Jan Vesely(5)
5 Kawhi Leonard (9)
7 Kemba Walker (6)
8 Bismack Biyombo (8)
9 Jonas Valanciunas (7)
10 Alec Burks (10)
11 Tristan Thompson (12)
12 Donatas Motiejunas (11)
13 Marcus Morris (13)
14 Jordan Hamilton (15)
14 Chris Singleton (18)
16 Jimmer Fredette (14)
17 Markieff Morris (16)
18 Kenneth Faried (19)
19 Tobias Harris (17)
20 Klay Thompson (20)
21 Reggie Jackson (21)
22 Tyler Honeycutt (22)
23 Josh Selby (24)
24 Nikola Mirotic (26)
25 Lucas Noquiera (23)
26 Trey Thompkins (25)
27 Darius Morris (27)
28 Marshon Brooks (unranked)
29 Davis Bertans (unranked)
30 Jordan Williams (29)

On the first round bubble: Justin Harper, Kyle Singler, Nolan Smith, JaJuan Johnson, Travis Leslie

Ranking details: I used the following mock drafts as "voters" for the best players. That is, I assumed they ranked the players in the order that they felt like the players deserved to be drafted. (This is an incorrect assumption, because some mock drafts account for perceived team need, but it should be close.) Then I used the "instant run-off voting" algorithm in a program I wrote to deduce who deserved to be ranked in the top spot, then in the second spot, then in the third spot, and so forth. See here for details on that algorithm: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting

Changes from v 6.0: This time I only used mock drafts which had been updated POST LOTTERY. There are ten mock drafts which are new and/or have been updated since the last version of my compilation.

if Biyombo's going to fall to 8 jazz could trade up from 12. Adding Brandon Knight with Biyombo that would be a great draft

that's what I've been sayin', brough! That would be sweet! Now imagine if Williams falls to 3 as well. BEST DARFT EVAR!

I could see Jazz packaging the 12 pick and next season's GSW/NJ pick move up into Top 8 to get Vesley. Knight gives them possible Deron Williams' replacement and Vesley on for AK47.

I am not high on Vesely anymore. He just has terrible hands. So no thanks.

I'm with you. I used to have a hard-on for the guy, but I don't see it anymore. I think I simply coveted him for the possible highlight reel he'll produce. Other than dunking, he can't do much else.

Williams and Knight would be 2 great pieces for the Cavs. And Williams is sounding so confident and letting everyone know that he is a 3 that can play alittle 4!

Why use TWO lottery picks on a huge reach? Better to keep the GS pick for a much deeper draft next year.

I'd rather go Knight (if Williams is taken #2) and Singleton. Both of those guys would be good fits for the Jazz. If Knight can play the 2, he can be used as a combo guard in case Jazz can't re-sign Watson. Harris/Knight, Hayward, Jefferson and Favors/Millsap can carry the scoring load, allowing Singleton to concentrate on defense.

If Singleton can hit the NBA three consistently in workouts I'm on board. I tend to think he is a decent college three point shooter that won't quite be able to handle the extra distance.
