What's new

Congrats to Dennis Lindsey

We couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. Great showings from the C4, and two very close, entertaining losses (one to our arch tank-rival of the West).

I can't hate the Suns. If Utah gets the #1 pick I want the Suns to get the number 2.

Man if the GS Tankers some how missed the playoffs and got the number one pick, I think I might just laugh myself to death. Talk about Karma.

Its tanking in disguise at least we're doing it not putting in 5 PF and C in...

THE PROFESSIONAL STEALTH TANK is in full effect

These players will grow a lot, and as bad a Burke has been, he is easily an upgrade. This team might end up winning quite a few games.

I know, right?

Trey Burke stat line for the season...

0pts, 0ast, 0reb, 0stl, 0fts, 0min, but on the bright side, 0to, 0fls

He's really been under-performing, imho.

The professional tank...the front office tank. Call it what you want but tonight was a perfect example. Double-doubles by Kanter and Favors, with Hayward just missing a triple-double. And a very good showing by Burks (except at the FT line). The Core4 accounted for 80% of the points, 77% of the rebounds and 70% of the assists for the team. The other six players gave Utah just 17 pts. Have to credit this loss to Lindsey. Develop the young core whilst maintaining the high pick. Kudos, my man.

Totally agree. They are looking good while losing. I wondered after the Jazz lost to OKC: what if you took a talent like Durant and put him on the current Jazz roster (minus 1 for getting Durant). That would be an awesome team, way better than the crew surrounding Durant right now. Can we get that number 1? Go Lindsey.

Thought I heard that in the lotto era, only three teams with the worst record have actually won the lotto. We probably don't want to come in last, but second to last:)

This is calculated.

This is exactly what FO were expecting. Watching young players give %100, put up some good numbers and watching them developing and filling the gaps in their game while tanking squad and inexperience in overall bringing us the losses that we need. This is the kind of losses that you can actually be happy about it.

No, coming in last still gives us the best chance.

Well, OKC did get clobbered by Minn; they're just not a great team without Westbrook. And Phoneix was supposed to be bad. So maybe we'll still see some blowout losses as we face better teams. But it is good to see teh Core4 progressing. I'm especially impressed by Burks. I always had faith, based on performances last season, that Hayward, Favors and Kanter would be very good players. But I had doubts about Burks. Alec just might be the one Utah has to give a MAX contract to.

And for those who said Hayward wasn't clutch...what a fantastic 3. Sure, Bledsoe came right back to win it. But it was solid defense. He just rose up and hit a tough shot with a hand in his face. Kind of wish the Jazz had traded for him. But if it would have required Burks, as was rumored, then definitely not. Burks has been quite the surprise. But why can he hit such difficult shots and be so bad on his FT's?
Yes, nice shot by Hayward in a big moment, I'll give credit where it's due. Hope he can hit those kinds of shots in those type of situations on a consistent basis.

As far as Burks' struggles from the FT line, it's a TEAMWIDE problem. Nobody can make a FT to save their lives. Another puzzling stat so far...Hayward is shooting 46% from 3, but only 26% on 2pt shots. Maybe Hayward should only shoot 3s instead, LOL.

The fun part is this team will actually win some games too. It's not going to be JUST close losses.

And when they win, you can be genuinely happy - it will be awesome to see Favors, Hayward, Kanter, and Burks carry us to a victory.

These two games are like magically hooking up with the hottest girl in school and than she explains that she is not interested in a relationship but would rather just meet once a week for sex.

The main reason why Hayward shoots better from 3 pt line is he is usually more open than when he takes contested 2 pt shots. His mid-range game has never been that good to begin with but now that he is setting up the offense he is getting more attention and having to take more difficult shots. His weak mid range game is why he isn't a better player and why he doesn't deserve the MAX.

Hayward is also shooting 50% from the free throw line at the moment.

Looks like MCW already has the ROY award won in the first week. In the words of a famous poet from this board, Wow. Just Wow!"

But the hottest girl on the planet and several of her almost equally hot friends will finally be legal next year...and you know you have an amazing chance of landing one of them for a very long-term relationship. So just suffer a bit this season and keep your eye on that 2014 payoff!
