Its not whether or not hes a " good" player its whether or not hes worth his contract for what he offers?
How much better does Conley make the Jazz than say if they had kept Crowder the picks and just moved Mitchell over to point?
Mitchell is a better scorer a better shooter and better defender and is developing as as a distributor. Conley has in the past been a better passer but does one really need to spend the kind of money conley is making to distribute the ball when snyder and the league in general isnt in need of an offense where PGs handle the ball and initiate the offense the majority?
As previously stated ingles handles pg duties as does mitchell mudiay and clarkson and pretty much anyone else not named rudy or tony bradley.
Adding conley weakened the bench and as a cost benefit analysis the cost outweighs the benefit IMO
But then what would we talk about??? LolI would suggest holding off your assessment until the end of the season. Maybe he’s fantastic or maybe he’s a bust.
We’ll all know by summer.

When did I say he said that? Here you go.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.indystar.com/amp/1703286001
He said himself that the jazz had the better offer. About all he says that night include Conley is he liked the roster.
I tried to copy out of that article but it won't work on my phone for some reason. The closest he gets us he mentions Conley, Mitchell, and gobert - the best defensive player in the league (that's in the quote) as huge reasons why he left for Utah. But in the end he says he saw the offer, then looked at the roster and the opportunity and that's why he came to Utah. Not one thing about "well since they got Conley I'll consider it, otherwise **** them and their better offer with more guaranteed years and best defensive player in the league".
Now you prove he specifically said "no Conley, no sign".
Sure the fact that the Jazz would have had at least 2 PF's already on the roster when they were looking to sign him. When the Jazz went looking for a PF it's because they just traded Crowder for Conley, without that trade are they even looking at him? Very unlikely.Any real facts to back up your claim?
Said repeatedly that discussion here is always a function of 'the last 5 games.' Luckily we've won those, but wait until we drop a few.I love when things are going well and people start talking about shedding assets.
Guaranteed - three game losing streak and everyone here will be talking about how The Jazz lack depth to be a contender.
Why would they be looking at him if they didn't need that position? With Crowder on the team they had people at PF, when he got traded they needed somebody. Are the Jazz willing to give that 4th year if the position is less of a need? Do they trade Favors if they don't need the space for the Conley deal? A lot of things happened for the Jazz to even look at him, then the added deal with the roster different makes it seem unlikely he's here if the Conley deal isn't done first. How about you disprove it (that is how real science works). It has been mentioned by Jazz media people (I don't remember who) that Indiana was unwilling to give the 4th year. Also, nobody believes we wouldn't have signed Bojan just because we had Crowder on the team.
That is more like us wanting to sign Bojan than Bojan wanting to sign with us. And in all fairness we can still let Favs and Crowder go without ever doing the Conley trade. It's one of the many ways but not the only way. More of an option than an actual requirementSure the fact that the Jazz would have had at least 2 PF's already on the roster when they were looking to sign him. When the Jazz went looking for a PF it's because they just traded Crowder for Conley, without that trade are they even looking at him? Very unlikely.
Do they offer that with Crowder on the team? Unlikely. If Favors is also still on the team? Highly unlikely. Both of those things happened because of the Conley deal.LOL, this is wrong. Bojan came because the Jazz offered most $ and years.
Fair enough, how about the quote by Loggrad that shows he mentioned the roster as a factor in him signing? And also named Conley in that same quote while not directly saying he was a factor. That is more like us wanting to sign Bojan than Bojan wanting to sign with us. And in all fairness we can still let Favs and Crowder go without ever doing the Conley trade. It's one of the many ways but not the only way. More of an option than an actual requirement
No doubt, I mean all we can do is wait and see but there is reason for optimism imo.
I'm not going to fret too much over whether he starts when he gets back or not, either way I think Quin will figure out how best to use him.
One thing I do want to see more of when he returns is PnR with Bogdanovic. I think that's a natural combo that has the potential to really give teams fits.
you guys are so near-sighted. Conley is here to take us to the next level in the playoffs. Of course we are a good regular season team, with or without him. That's not the point. The point is to have another guy when we are playing the clippers or the lakers in the post season. We're going to need him if we want a chance at making the conference finals. There will come a time when ingles at point forward won't be enough and that's where all the extra firepower comes into play.
Whoa, easy there with the reasonable thinking, this is about dramatizing events.I would suggest holding off your assessment until the end of the season. Maybe he’s fantastic or maybe he’s a bust.

Maybe. But Rudy needs to maintain gravity in the dunkers spot + Mike needs to be able to punish Rudy’s man when he rotates into the lane to stop him (either by passing to Rudy, getting by him and to the rim, etc.). If Mike continues to settle for the floater and keeps hitting it at the same abysmal percentage, that whole action becomes trashy.
Someone took their meds today. A very normal, level-headed response.I would suggest holding off your assessment until the end of the season. Maybe he’s fantastic or maybe he’s a bust.

Agree. Next season we will be looking at the return of Curry, klay and KD, all still got many years of good basketball ahead. This year is our best opportunity.no you couldn't be more wrong. end of season is too late. The team needs to decide soon. If they get it wrong, its another wasted year.
We can however reasonably expect Conley's next forty games to more closely resemble his previous couple of hundred games than his last twenty.
And the player he was in those last couple hundred games is absolutely a player than can help this team win more games.
Well here is where you said that. When did I say he said that?
In your own quote he mentioned Conley, and also mentioned the roster twice. That says to me the players here when he signed were a big reason he signed and that Conley was a part of that.
You didn't even address that if the Jazz still had Crowder they likely aren't looking for a PF.
You are missing the point, No Conley= No Bogdanovic and probably no Mudiay.
Well here is where you said that.
So if you never saw bogie say that where did you get that very definitive information. You seem pretty damn positive. Where is your evidence that equation is completely correct as you claim?
I'm sure Conley, as part of the roster, was part of the equation, but far from the main reason. If you think the extra guaranteed year at more money than the other offers he was considering wasn't the main factor you're just not thinking very clearly. He mentioned that several times in other articles I read. Google it.
So no, no Conley does NOT mean no Bogdanovic. That's a myth that needs to be put to bed.
