Contact Phone Numbers for Front Office

Agreed. Personally, I don't think there are 5 people on this board who are legitimately qualified to judge the performance of an NBA head coach. And playing high school or rec league basketball doesn't make you qualified. You may have a gripe here and there about some aspect of a game, but very few have the background or intimate knowledge of the team necessary to criticize Corbin's overall body of work. I think most people just hate him because it's the popular thing to do, or because he doesn't play their favorite player enough, or because he has the audacity to actually try to win in a tank year. The next coach will face the same irrational complaints. I remember one post criticizing him for having the wrong expression on his face during a game. I doubt DL or KOC even listen to messages like these, and if they do, they consider the source and ignore them. If it were me, I would assume it was just another ridiculous rant and delete it after the first few seconds.

Since when are these criticisms irrational? That is a very poor analysis of what this board has been providing. Have you carefully read what people say? And basketball is basketball. You play the same game at every level. It's about fundamentals and whatever your profession, they apply at every level. So, don't give this baseless argument that because we haven't played in the NBA we aren't qualified to judge.

And Triangle, you want my number, then PM me and I'll give it to you. And you can debate this with me personally.

Why not have a say?

Because the team does not owe you anything. Simple as that. Don't like what they're doing? Stop watching the games and stop following them. Stop giving them money. It's strictly a business relationship here. Don't like the new AC/DC album? Don't buy it. Don't like the new installment of Call of Duty? Don't buy it. Sports teams, bands, video game companies....they owe you nothing.

Tell me also what makes Greg Miller so qualified

Oh...I don't know...he owns the bloody team?

Lol at calling the FO and complaining. Also LOL at such an over reaction to the idea.

Gives him the right to have a say, but doesn't mean he's any more qualified than we are.

I want Corbin to coach out the rest of this season, we NEED him to coach out the rest of the season.
After that...I never want to see him affiliated with Jazz ever again.

Agree Totally ... And we all have our opinions and if we want to express them to the FO, that's our right. If you think it's dumb, then fine, just don't tell me I can't do it.

He is privy to much more info than any of us. That alone should be sufficient. Unless you claim that despite having access to infinitely less information, you are still able to make better decisions.

Oh, I won't tell you can't do it. I will tell you it's dumb though, just as you reserve the right to do something dumb.
No I won't PM you for your phone number.
No I don't actually want to talk to you on a phone.
I don't even want to talk to your spouse or boss to complain about your posting habits.
It's just not that important to me.

Our tax dollars had nothing to do with AC/DC or some video game being produced, at least not to the extent that sports teams do for a variety of reasons. When the hoi polloi fund certain elements of the business, i.e., the Delta Center and beyond, it'd be nice if the product was desirable. Pretty sure a new arena will be proposed in the coming years, who do you think will be forced to contribute payments for it?

Surely, you don't think the voters agree to that because of the assumed esthetic quality of the product. Unless I missed something, tax-dollar funded arenas are sold to voters based on the idea of job creation. I don't know who your local representative is, but I'm quite certain they didn't campaign for public funding for an arena based on "We're going to win the chip, baby!"

Now, if you had a gripe with what economic benefit ESA has wrought, that's a valid complaint. Even then, I think you're better off taking it up with your representative than with Greg Miller. "My tax money was used for the arena and I want Burks to play more?" That just makes you sound like a child.

Watching four years of Corbin is more than enough information to make an intelligent decision. And in order to make an intelligent decision, you have to be a knowledgeable observer. You have to have played to know when quickness trumps size or where power trumps quickness, or how to position yourself, box out, and move your feet on D, set yourself for your shot, and as a coach notice who not only who demonstrates the abilities to do those things but whether they are doing them properly. What guys see the floor and do the small things to make your team better, like getting back on D or making the extra pass. Just a whole bunch of things. Recognizing matchups. Looking at players' bad habits, like turning your head on D or not moving without the ball, or putting the ball on the floor unnecessarily, I could on and on about things someone who's into the game notices. I don't know; maybe Greg is a total basketball fanatic like Locke, though I doubt it. Locke was going on and on about Favors back step dribble and crossover. Yeah, it was a nice move, but I did that move in my sleep when I was young, and so did many other guys I played against on the playgrounds.

Yeah, Greg knows the people, the personalities, but how much does he know about basketball?

Given how I see you post, a lot more than you.

Can you explain yourself. I like to have some substance to back up an opinion. Otherwise, you're just blowing smoke.

In other words, all those fundamentals I mentioned don't mean anything to you, is that it? I see Jazz players who fail to adhere to those fundamentals. Maybe they need better coaching, you think?
