What's new

Cool video of the Jazz practice (6 mins)

.....didn't listen to the video....but I suspect the coaches are saying: "Is it really too much to ask to just stay in front of your man?.....aren't we paying you enough money????

Why not watch, listen, and respond to what you see/hear rather than speculate and make a joke about your speculation?

Because then they would not be Carolinajazz now would they?

Thanks for post, hard to imagine how Enes can follow any of the nuance, with English as second language, and some of the relatively fast pace of language.

If you really wanted to read into it, only three white jerseys out there: Harris/CJ/Al. Blue jerseys worn by: Hayward/Bell/Howard/Favors/Evans/Kanter. Conspicuously absent Sap and Burks.

So what you're saying is that the starting lineup will DEFINITELY, WITHOUT ANY HESITATION, be Harris-Burks-CJ-Sap-Jefferson?

I think they are talking about defense and they all seemed very confused including the coach. I heard coach Corbin say "try not to let your guy score...I think" then he looks to the other coach and he just shrugs his shoulders and you hear him say "I think so".

Its going to be a long season.....

I'm not going to watch it again listening for this moment, but I'm curious. Please give the time when this is said. thx.

They were working on the rotation scenarios and where to push the man off a screen for one type of zone defense.

According to Jody Gennesy from Des News, the first 15 mins of practice will be open to the media this season. I'm not sure if this video comes from that time or not (it was posted by he organization).

Jody Genn. also said the first team was Harris, Bell, GH, Favors, and Big Al for what it's worth (probably nothing).

If those starters are legit, has there been any word on Millsap's opinion on it? Has he publicly articulated his feelings about coming off the bench? Also, I hate Bell but perhaps in the long run it will be better to make Burks, at least for a little while, earn a starting role, keeping him hungrier in the meantime.

Here is another thread that was discussing Millsap's reaction to possibly not starting: https://jazzfanz.com/showthread.php?7977-Millsap-willing-to-come-off-the-bench

You might find it interesting.

The audio is not great, but English is my first language, and I have trouble understanding what Corbin is saying.

Somewhat intesting to see how Corbin runs practice, but then again it's like the making of an album by your favorite artist.
A lot more interesting to see them on stage.

I did see a full practice at SLCC at some point early in Sloan's head coaching career. Interesting to see the whole thing play out.
Seems like they must have closed practices soon after as I recall reading several times about Jerry's closed practices to media/fans.
There was a time when you could sit in the top corner of the gym sectioned off completely from the team. Like watching from an eagles nest.
