Corbin admits the Jazz don't have a traditional 3??

This doesn't bother me a bit. I'd rather not overpay for a "traditional 3" just to fill a current void when, with more cap space, we could perhaps sign one next year or even better, draft a potential stud like MKG.

Great job pointing out AK 10 days ago.

I think the solution is even easier than you pointed out - If AK is the best out there, then don't sign anyone.

Also they are asking for ten million a season his agent would have to come down a lot more than "some".
 
I reject the premise.

I think Gordon Hayward is a traditional SF.

How is he not? He's an atypical SG due to his size or a typical SF. Has traditional all around SF game.

I don't know what the hell Corbin is talking about, maybe some of you that accept the premise can explain it to me.
 
Don't sign Josh Howard. There are so many good SFs in next year's draft the Jazz don't need more FAs. Just have Hayward, CJ, Millsap, Evans fill in at the 3 for this year. It's not like it's bad. But Josh Howard isn't the answer (not anymore).

Next year draft a SF. Much less messy. Enjoy this year whether they win or lose.

So why isn't Durant a PF??? He is 6'11" with a 7'5" wingspan.
Hayward is best at SG by all indications last year. He can play the position just as well as SF, where he is a little undersized. If you can go big and don't lose anything, you do it.
 
Hayward gives us a mismatch advantage as a SG, but not at SF. I'd rather see Evans continue to grow his game and become that SF.
If Burks is the real deal at SG, Hayward would have to play a lot of SF to get on the court. Nice "problem" for coach Ty to sort out...
Not a fan of Howard, to be honest. I would be surprised if he comes here; at his age, I wouldn't give him more than a 1-year deal, which I doubt he'd take.
 
CJ and Hayward aren't built like prototype 3's. No story here. CJ really should be a two, while Hayward projects as more of a 3 to me, but they can play both. What Ty is saying (I think) is there may be situations where we have to counter certain 3's in the league with different options -- Jeremy for height and bounce, Sap for an Artest (as one example).

I would hope we would make coaching adjustments.

This. I ain't hatin' on anyone, but al the talk of Evans at the 3, Hayward at the 2, Millsap at the 3, Burks at PG ... ugh. A couple of those can work, but think most of you have a Lakers hangover and think the biggest team wins. It would be very fun and exciting to see;

PG - Burks
SG - GH
SF - Evans/Millsap
PF - Favors
C - Al

... I just think we'd STINK on the defensive end.

Again, I'm not calling anyone out, I just think too many are reaching for a cinderella story.

This is why I think Hayward is more of a 3. It's nice to think we can get the size mismatch, but Hayward is not built to stop guys like Gordon, Manu, or Harden. The counterargument is Hayward becomes so proficient as a ballhandler and scorer that the losses on defense are outweighed by how badly he can exploit those guys on the other end. But he has a ways to go before that counterargument would hold any weight.

The Kobe Bryant Story Arc of last year is he stopped driving. His inability to get penetration and draw fouls was one of the big reasons the Lakers imploded down the stretch. He's a fantastic player. And he's a tremendous shooter off the stop and pop. But he wasn't the Kobe of Old getting all the way to the rim at the end of last season. Dude is getting old.
