Corbin Finally Considers Changing the Starting Lineup...Just Not Yet

Given his stated willingness to adjust his lineups however necessary in search of a winning combination, it came as little surprise when Corbin said Thursday that he may consider the one that closed the loss in Houston.

Just not yet.

A lineup that included Favors, Hayward and Burks would no doubt please Jazz fans clamoring for bigger roles for young players, but Corbin said he would not pull the trigger on something so dramatic for Friday’s game against the Spurs.

"Not right now," he said. "Not for tomorrow, but we considered it. That’s going to be where we are. We’ve got to play the group that you feel right now is going to give you a chance right now. They played their butt off to get us back in the game."

That lineup would mean starting games without a traditional point guard, a move that would no doubt send an unpleasant message to a locker room that includes three of them: Mo Williams, Jamaal Tinsley and Earl Watson.

Sigh, what will it take to change it?

I hope he keeps the vet lineup starting all year. Then as a result the Jazz will win at most 4 more games getting the Jazz a higher draft pick and most importantly a pink slip for this joke of a coach!

I wonder though, how well Mo would do as a scoring point with Hayward and Burks running the offence. Point forward anyone? Kind of weird, but Mo is possibly better suited to that role and he could do it with other playmakers on the floor.

Corbin doesn't want to create a bad locker room environment right now. I could see him making the change if the vets continue to play like crap and there is less than 6 or 7 games left, but making the change now would likely cuase our free agents to talk bad about utah after they leave. I could certainly see MO do that. dude is a front runner!

It suprises me how virtually everyone has turned on Corbin in the last year. Fire corbin messages were not something i heard a lot last year, but bam, everyone wants the man gone. Personally, I was a corbin apologist for some time, but after the last 3 weeks of Jazz basketball, I see that Corbin is not the man for the Job.

Who cares what they say after they leave. It would mostly hurt themselves. Our locker room is terrible. The team has quit and the coach has lost all respectability from pretty much everybody. The softest media in the league is turning on him and he is losing his cool.

I can understand what you mean when you say sofest media, but i am curious as to how he has manifested he is losing his cool?

He's used Burks and Foye together, just not against other starters.
