Not yet available in the Jazz news so ...

For the first time since resigning as coach midway through the 2011 season, Jerry Sloan is watching practice in an official capacity.

He rejoined the team as an adviser during the summer.

According to Corbin, Sloan "... thinks we’re moving in the eight direction. I listen to him. I want to hear his opinion on what we’re doing. He’s honest about what he sees, [but] he thinks we’re doing a lot of things that are helping our young guys grow."

Should we all be concerned?
Eight directions!! North South West East Northeast Northwest Southeast Southwest
Everything's covered. :)

Senior and retired people around me are usually acting like brainwashed about things. They exaggerate everything about relationship patterns. Say "Hello!" too emphasizingly, chit-chat forever, get pissed too easily about silly things. Most of them occur from loneliness, the feeling of emptiness and uselessness as they suddenly fall into a situation of not doing anything, not having a decent social status, not having anyone around to boss around and yell at.

Looking at Sloan's facial impression, he reminds me none of those, but an old-timer that is -yes- bored, and is back hanging around with the place he has spent his half life with. He is looking, he doesn't see the fire he pumped himself to the team before. But tries to be pleased to be around again. Tries to avoid getting involved too much, because he thinks he might damage the goods with his extra dominant character. Looks and thinks, "Well if I were young enough to fight through the growth of those unshaped masterpieces..."

I'm really happy that he is around. But I wish he had someone to suggest to the Jazz as his heir with the same explosive reactions, rage, love for the team, chemistry, father/elder brother figure.

Eight Directions....a good thing.

I read it that the Jazz were doing alot more than they did previously, probably even watching game film and stuff.

I am thrilled with the things I am hearing. From this to Lindsey comments about not skipping steps. Seems they are doing all the right things to give this core the chance to shine and grow.
