I remember that happening last summer too. No biggie. Cases went down, weather warmed up and people moved outside, hospitalizations went down. I was at the gym yesterday and saw on the tv that hospitalizations were down 19% from last week. Cases were down too. Also, winter is almost over. Also omicron is weak sauce compared to delta and the OG version. Maybe those things have to do with mask mandates and such going away. If all the hospitals are full and hella peoples are dying like a mofo then I expect restrictions to come back or continue. As they should. Pretty simple stuff that makes sense really. Or its just the boogeyman (government/fake news media/left/wokesters/msm/etc). Who knowsWhat I’m talking about is that America is going to pivot away from nanny mandates. They are hurting the economy and extremely unpopular. Republican governors like Ron Desantis pivoted away a while ago and many of their Democrat counterparts are now joining them in moving away. The Federal government has not. That will all change on March 1st when Biden delivers his State of the Union address. In that address he will declare that his efforts have ended the pandemic and moved us into a softer “endemic” stage which doesn’t require the constructs that are polling so poorly. Get ready for every piece of the Federal government to adopt a direction more in line with an understanding of the pandemic being over.
The Republicans, the Democrats, the media, everyone is going to be turning the page. They’ll all claim the science has changed but the reality is that the politics of it has become untenable.
