Even Enes' 20/20 game wasn't as exciting as Gobert's preseason ownage to me. Not that I diss him or smth. It's just so cool to have a guy like Gobert on da team.
Could Gobert eventually replace Kanter in the Starting Lineup?

Yes, of course, he is just showing so much ability in his 4th year. Next year I hear he is going to work on dribbling, the year after passing. Jeremy is great fun for the occassional spectacular dunk, but not much else. Not sure he really has a place in the league.
Agreed. Guys with freakish athleticism peak early: AK47, Vince Carter to name 2. Kanter I think will have the skills to be valuable for a long time. I think that once favors start to be unable to dunk from the free throw line, he going to lose a lot.
He looks really "heavy" to me this season... I wonder if he'd lost any athleticism he had over the previous seasons.
I don't think polls can be edited. If they can I will, if I remember (I'd give that a coin's flip chance).
I've always been the opinion that as long as Evans plays ok in spurts, gives energy the few times it's needed, and doesn't whine about being the 12th guy on the bench that he's a pretty good 12th guy on the bench. He's the type that should be content to do Jr. Jazz clinics, PR stuff, practice, and collect an ok paycheck for doing so. Plus every now and then he has a pretty good game.

LOL.. it was to do with the poll question saying "Favors" and the thread title saying "Kanter".
Regardless, I'm buddy with Beantown so I know he can take the hit without feeling a damn thing.

That is true, however, I think Evans is better than people give him credit for. He's actually a pretty good high-post passer. I've noticed the Jazz do well with him in the Ostertag-type role. Of course, he's much more mobile and can actually hit an outside jumper pretty consistently now. The only question is who else he should play with? I'd say play him with Hayward and Clark at the wings. I'd also put Favors or Kanter at the low-post. The PG will need to be 3-point shooter at the very least. They could put Burks at the PG slot or Burke as long as they slash to the basket. Gotta have a little faith before players can prove themselves. That's why I don't think preseason is long enough to show what guys can do. Some guys will always excel. Others, need time to warm up and do better in the 4th quarter.

I agree. Each player provides a different strength for different situations. I'm just glad the Jazz have this problem in the first place. We have so many quality big men that we had to let some go. Sad but also awesome at the same time.
The question is can we afford to keep all 3 though? Who would you bring off the bench? If Kanter has a great year this year, I'm pretty sure he'll be demanding somewhere in the region of $13+ million... not to mention Gobert when he's up for an extension.
Something else to consider - who will you bring off the bench? It's most likely you go with Gobert at the C in the starting lineup right? So either Favors or Kanter comes off the bench? To me that's such as waste. Why not trade a "bench player" for Andrew Harrison who seems like as sure a thing as they come in terms of a PG talent? He'll give you 18 pts and 8 assists in his rookie year.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't watch college sports in general. For example, BYU vs Utah doesn't phase me anymore. It hasn't for years now.
Anyway, I see your point. That's a tough call. Although, I think Favors has the edge in overall value. Kanter does seem more intelligent and more clever on offense. Although, defense is where our focus should be and seems to be going. If I had to guess, I would think they'll eventually trade Kanter and Burks for someone like you say. That'd be hard to pass up for a team that may already have a good point guard, like Washington, for example. They seem to be stocking up on "veterans" right now. Milwaukee might also be a good target. Oladipo was who I wanted the Jazz to trade up for; so unless they view him as a SG then Orlando would probably be the ideal candidate. I'm sure there are others that I'm too tired to think of at the moment.
