Could Gobert eventually replaces BIEDRINS as a bench player ?

Against his former team, Biedrins had a nice quick reverse move which sent him to the line. He can be more productive than we imagine. And being a veteran among the young starters, he can be a positive addition from the bench. God this feels good to type. I'll do it again. The veteran player can be a positive addition to the young starters of the Utah Jazz. Yes no one else. Yes it is real.

Offensively, Biedrins was tentative at best except for one good drive to the basket. He did seem to pass the ball well, which makes sense for someone who is afraid to shoot the ball. However, GoBear looked like he was a freakishly tall high school player playing in an NBA game. Lots of work there. I think Biedrins will be the primary backup for the forseeable future, but next season, if Biedrins truly does resurrect his career, the Jazz will prefer the one million dollar contract of GoBear over the five to ten million dollar deal a seven foot veteran like Biedrins will be getting.

Gobert is 7 feet + with the wing span of a ****ing Pterodactyl.

Can someone please tell me why he's trying to grab/tip rebounds with one hand?

Two hands god damnit!!!!

I think Gobert is already there. We don't need no stinking Beans!!!!!

I wish what you are saying is true, but watching the game last night Gobert just did not quite know what to do with the ball in his hands. His reactions seemed a little slow at times as well. I think Gobert WILL be better by next season. I however think he needs more time and to be brought along slowly this season.

My wild prediction? Next season, we don't re-sign Biedrins because we just can't afford him and keep our flexibility intact. He then goes and plays for the Spurs because they like international players and Duncan will be pretty much retired at that point. Then the end of the season we duke it out with them in the second round of the playoffs and Go-Bear shows why we kept him on the team. ;)

He should have already. Playing Biedrins over him was a bad move imo. I am not calling for Gobert to play 30 minutes as he isn't ready for that. But this is all about the youth. Gobert is part of that. Gobert only got 12 minutes. Brickins got 8. Why not just give Gobert 20? Or if that is to much give him 16 and throw 4 more to Evans...I just see no reason for Brickins to see the floor.

First of all, it's a preseason game. Second of all, Biedrins has a massive guaranteed contract so he's gonna be on the team, might as well get him integrated. Thirdly, Biedrins played better. Sorry. You say it's all about the youth. If that's true, send the youth to the d-league team. This is the pros, this is the big league. Preform or sit on the bench, you don't lose games to pamper the children at the top level, have some pride man.

In 9 minutes last year he averaged. .5 ppg, 30% FT, .3 ast, .3 spg and 2 fouls. By your very own logic Biedrins has earned his place on the pine. You are right that you don't pamper people and that includes Biedrins. Have some pride int he product you put on the floor.

If that is not enough for you let us look at 2011. In almost 16 minutes he averaged 1.7ppg, 3.7rbg, .3 apg, 1bpg and .5spg all while being a phenominal.111% from the line!!!...

In 12 minutes last night Gobert got 5 rebs. Beating Biedrins average by 1 1/2. Biedrins is a known quantity and he sucks.

I know it is the old Cliche but make him earn those minutes. I certainly don't want Andris taking minutes from Rudy. In fact I want Rudy to be taking minutes from Andris, but I want Gobert to earn the right to be out there.

Fair enough. Jazz should sign McGuire and have Gobert compete with him. I'd rather have either of them on the court over Biedrins.

Most players are fragile (which I find ironic) notice when Biedrins really fell off is when their coach changed and suddenly he was out of favor and his game dropped significantly. I think there is still some talent there so how about we find out?

Want to know each players stats from their last season in a Jazz Jersey? Right there are none.

We have 7 more games to find out who earns it. I hope it is Rudy and I hope Corbin makes the right decision.

I thought it was hilarious when Biedrins scored. He got the ball and it looked like he was just like why not. Nobody tried to stop him.

This! Stoked pwning fools.

So cctrackstar says we shouldn't pamper gobert and give him the minutes till he earns it......BUT we SHOULD pamper biedrins and give him minutes without him earning them (and his play the last few years shows us he doesn't deserve them)

Ya that seems fair

I want the starters to be rewarded after building huge leads by bringing in inexperienced players to blow them. It will be great to get Wiggins, who cares about frustrating Kanter and FAvors?

Wrong thread.... this thread is about 2 backups by the names of gobert and biedrins and why one should get minutes without earning them but not the other one

Please don't derail the thread as this is about Gobert and Biedrins.

Edit: Fish beat me.
