Could KoC be planning to keep 15 this year?

Given his marching orders to be aggressive in free agency this year, I see that as a possibility.
I'm not particularily in favor of resigning AK, but he is/was a better all-round player than either Josh Howard or DeMarre Carroll. If the $$$ are good, I'd do it...

Then if Fes has grown up a bit, I'd be fine with bringing back his big body in the paint for the vet minimum.

That would give us unprecedented depth...

PG Williams, Tinsley, Watson
SG Hayward, Burks, Foye
SF Williams, Kirilenko, Carroll
PF Millsap, Favors, Evans
C Jefferson,Kanter, Fesenko

Murphy to the D-League...

Don't see why not.

Mo, Watson, Tinsley, Foye, Burks, and Hayward all can play the pg spot.

Hayward, Burks, Mo, Foye, and Murphy can all play sg.

Hayward, Marvin, Millsap, Carroll, and Evans can all play sf.

Millsap, Favors, Evans, Marvin can all play pf.

Al, Kanter, and Favors can play c.

We are deep at all positions, it's probably best to keep the 15th spot open, but if we do take on 15 players I'd want the 15th to be a C.

That wouldn't work. Even if he's in the D-League, Murphy would still occupy a roster spot, assuming you're talking about the Jazz signing Murphy and sending him to the D-League. Obviously he could go to the D-League on his own even if the Jazz didn't sign him.

This would require buying out Bell and signing kirilenko. I've moved past both but if it is a choice of one or the other it isnt evena choice. AK 1,000 times out of 10.

You'd start Williams over AK? I don't think so. Did you watch him play last year in the Euroleague? AK's a lot better, at least based on last year. Williams still has room for improvement, so ....

Did you see AK in his last few years in the NBA?

Including Murphy making the team, they will have 14 players. I think Utah will have the 15th spot open for a training camp signee or future flexibility. I don't think KOC uses it on AK or Howard, although I wouldn't mind AK.

I still say Tinsley/ Watson + Bell for Steve Blake.

If you include Murphy it's 15. If you buyout Raja, it's 14.

AK had a nice run the last year with the Jazz, but then he got injured and he was done for the year. Last year, the lighter schedule in Euroleague gave him a chance to heal and regain some confidence. He wasn't the Euroleague MVP for nothing.

I would play Williams over AK. And it really is not that close of a call. You need to have shooter's around Big Al or Millsap and Favors. So in that system Williams is far preferable to AK.

I really think it is time that both AK and the Jazz move on.

Where's the overreaction? The 'no chance in hell' statements? Ok, here's some:

no no No NO!

The theme for this free agency period has been to maintain salary cap space for next year and acquire shooters. AK would certainly want a multi year mid level at least deal, and he can't shoot consistently. Besides, having him on the team would take away development minutes from Marvin, which would eat in to Hayward's time, which would limit Burk's time even more than it already is, which will guarantee that Murphy won't see the floor if he even got a contract. Chain reaction and all that.

As for Fes, he had his chance and if the Jazz wanted him they could have easily had him.
