Could Memo return next year?

It would have to be like the vet minimum but I hope he left Utah on good terms. Or maybe he returns in some form of coaching. I just think he could do a lot for Kanter and I hope he returns in some capacity.

I'm curious why you think he could do a lot for Kanter? Because he's Turkish and big?

As hard as it is to see him playing for NJ, he doesn't look all that good and I'm not sure we want him back. It won't do anything for the logjam we just opened up a little bit.

I think his inside game is fairly polished and Jefferson can help him improve but can you imagine Kanter with a consistent jump shot and outside game? He would be a matchup nightmare. Okur could help him with it.

Why couldn't Hornacek help him with that?

If Kanter is going to become a great jumpshooting bigman at the NBA-level, he'll do it with or without Memo. Playing with Okur could help Kanter more easily adjust to NBA-life, but just because Okur can shoot doesn't mean he'll improve Kanter's jumpshot.

You only bring Memo back if he can help the team, not because he's Turkish or because you want Kanter to become a better shooter (fwiw I think Enes is a capable shooter but I'd prefer him to focus on his 15ft-and-in game initially in his career).

You say polished, I say old and worn down.

If Memo wasn't seen as an asset to the team this year why the hell would he be an asset to the team next year? Do we need someone to teach Kanter to slow down?

Two games does not a season make. He could return as the 4th or 5th big. Let's see what happens in the development of Kanter and if Jefferson or Millsap are traded. I think Memo could play in an Elson-type role for another 2-3 years.
