What's new

Count down to media day -- player highlights

Nah you’ve just been on the other side of it with Jae. Matt is one of those guys you hate on the other team and live on your team... they have a term for it... it’s an *******...

Matt also wanted to fight Fisher cuz he’s a snake and the enemy of our enemy is our friend ya know.
I know. Even though we all hate Fisher, I still couldn’t like Barnes after that. If Jae is like an angry rhino, Barnes is like an annoying hyena.

Today is Bogdanovic day.

Not to take away from the thread, but I really like those Hickory jerseys for the Pacers, a lot.
Boj looks like he was in that movie, lol.

Bojan's career high in 3pt attempts in a game is 11(he shot 4-11 on 11-19-14)
Last season he had 72 games of at least 11 points.
He averaged 4.1 rebounds per game last season, but never had 11 rebounds in a game.
His career playoff average is 11 ppg.

I'm thinking of switching this up to maybe be a little more interesting. It might be fun to do gifs. Which means I have to add Quin Snyder to the schedule.

But tomorrow will be Mike Conley day. Could do highlights or gifs. In case I get distracted and don't get around to it in the morning I'll post one gif for now.

Ok, we're down to 10 days. Continuing with the new guy theme I guess it's Mudiay day.

Signing Mudiay is the only move we made this off-season that I didn't like. He's just been such a negative player his whole career. Poor defender and shooter and turns the ball over way too much. I hope the coaching staff can improve his game but if we have injuries I really cringe at the thought of him having to play significant minutes.

I do wish we had a real second-string PG. Lin would have even been nice.

The Mudiay signing didn't thrilled me, but i also thought i couldn't expect much more from a guy signing for a vet min, on such a low promise of role/minutes (no minutes on the floor at all outside of garbage time, or many injuries), so i was more or less ok with it

Mudiay is a guy who might be able to punish certain matchups. I guess Exum would be one of those guys too.

Emmanuel Mudiay

Inconsistent and potential are written all over in his stats, but neither of them have 10 letters. Intriguing has 10 letters which kind of describe the player. Brilliant has 9 letters and that's what people will call Zanic and Lindsey if Mudiay works out.

As an 18-year old he played 10 games for Guangdong Southern Tigers where he averaged 18-6-6.
In his NBA debut he had more than 10 turnovers, but he also scored 17 pts and dished out 9 assists on his way to defeating Houston. He faced Harden and the rockets twice in his first month where Mudiay averaged 10 pts, 10 assists and 10 turnovers.

He has 10 career games over 25 points.
Last season with the knicks he had 3 games where he attempted 10 free throws, he is a career 74% ft shooter.
He has 10 career games where he attempted at least 10 2pt shots, but failed to score more than 10 pts. Random jazz fact Mark Eaton is one of only 3 players to block 10 shots in the playoffs.

He has played against the Jazz 11 times, attempting a 3pt shot in 10 of those games. Last season he was 1-7 in 3pt attempts against the Jazz.

Mudiay ranks as a 10 on my unofficial preseason interesting backstories rankings.

from Wikipedia: "Mudiay was born on March 5, 1996 in Kinshasa, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) to Jean-Paul Mudiay and Therese Kabeya. His father died when he was a toddler, and the family was tremendously troubled by the Second Congo War. He lived under the constant threat of the instability in the region, while his mother grew only enough coffee and vegetables to support their needs. In 2001, Kabeya and her sons sought asylum in the United States and eventually escaped. He primarily spoke French upon arriving in the United States, but his older brother said, "We felt like Americans."

Day 9--Mike Conley

Conley averaged 9 points per game his rookies season. He averages 15 ppg for his career but averaged 21 ppg last season.
Conley averages nearly 6 assists per game, he has dished out 9 or more assists in 128 games.
Conley has played in 56 playoff games (28-28). In a 2013 victory over OKC he recorded 9 assists, just one shy of earning a triple double.
Mark Eaton had 9 seasons with more than 200 blocks.

I say we skip day 8 and go right to day 7!

Day 8 stinks. I looked 8 times for an update only to be disappointed. I 8 8 servings of funeral potatoes and jello while waiting and went #2 4 times (4x2=8) to make Wes proud.

I looked at a thread that was started by and had 8 straight posts by Lord Bullington while waiting.

I should wait a few minutes to post this at 8, but I won’t.

I’m now ir8 and refuse to wait for 8.

Meanwhile, I guess we skip day 8 and go right to day 7. Seven days until media day. So close you can almost reach out and touch it. Just like you can almost say that this is the year Exum lives up to the expectations. This must be Exum day.
