The thing that makes me excited this year is the fact that we have players that ARE good and that HAVE true talent. Most of them drafted in the top 10, 2 of them drafted at 3. We know it's just a matter of hard work and playing time to see it happen. In the past it's always been finding hope on guys drafted in the 20s and the 2nd round hoping that draft expresses best case scenario happens.

And the Jazz are so deep they have FOUR former lottery picks coming off the bench: Williams (#2), Biedrins (#11), Jefferson (#13) and either Rush (#13) or Burks (#12). That's NINE Lottery picks! Does anyone else have that many? May as well clear a spot for that championship trophy right now and order rings for the players and staff.

. I don't get why you have to respond that way. It's kind of sad bro. People are excited to watch these guys grow, develop, mature, and learn to finish games. Not win a championship. No one said anything remotely close to your overreaction.

Actually he has a point. Draft pick number isn't everything. Team needs to work hard. Work together. Become a sole body that every player knows where his teammate is or what he's gonna do when he has the ball. This team is really exciting not only for jazzfans but for anyone that likes to watch young teams do amazing things. I just can't wait.

Exactly. Playoffs and championships are not even in the conversation right now. That may be why this yr feels so good. Team growth and player development is going to be the entertainment. Loving moments in games instead of living and dying by wins and losses. Should be fun for a change. With that said, it better be only for this yr. I expect them to compete next yr for the 8th seed at least.

23 the number of assists that Kanter increased his season total from season 1 to season 2. Season one Kanter had 8, yes thats right 8 assists in 874 minutes, that is nearly 110 minutes played per assist. Last season he improved to 31 assists in 1078 minutes or about 1 per 35 minutes.
23 the career high score numbers for both Enes Kanter and Derick Favors. Not bad for young guys, scary for young guys who are are going to be called upon to play major minutes for the team this season. More shocking stats: The Core 4 have only 8 games where one of them scores 23 or more points. Hayward 4 times, Favors twice, and one each for Burks and Enes.

20 days until media day, unless Russia can step in and negotiate a quicker timeline.
Hayward was the only young-in to score 20 or more points in consecutive games. He did it once in February in consecutive loses to LAC and BOS.
In the Jazz's first 20 games this season they will play Phoenix 3 times. Will the Gaurd duo of Bledsoe and Dragic tear it up against Young Trey? Or will the Jazz sneak out 3 early victories to give us all hope? They also play 4 other teams twice in that span. Houston, OKC, Chicago, and GS. Intersetingly 3 of those teams (Phx, OKC, Chi) are teams that the Jazz have an all time losing record against (there are only 7, really only 6 except that the Jazz laid two big eggs against NY last season)
Derrick Favors had 5 or more FTA 20 times last season.
Alec Burk had 20 games where he played 20 minutes or less and got atleast one foul shot. In contrast Mo Williams had 20 games where he played more than 20 minutes and did not attempt a single ft. (FYI Marvin 23 games, Tinsley 17, Watson 12, Foye 28)
Yea, FTA was a problem. Look at the FTA per game averages of last years gaurd line: 0.4 for Jamal, 0.5 For Earl, 1.8 for Mo and Foye, 4.6 for Hayward. BTW--Trey Burke averaged 4.3 fta per game last season.
Trey Burke Had 20 blocks for Michagan last season. (2nd most on his team) That is more than 6 Jazz players had last NBA season.
In a random fact having nothing to do with 20, Rudy gobert blocked 50 shots in 27 games last season. That was good enough to be 4th on the Jazz last year in just 27 games !!!! His 1.8 blocks per game would have been the Jazz best.
Last year the Jazz had 20 home wins when Derrick Favors played 20 or more minutes.

Ronnie Brewer and John Starks wore #9 for the Jazz. But nobody will wear #9 on this years team or ever again because it hangs in the rafters for Larry.
Biedrens has 9 years of experience and started 9 games last season.
Rush played in 2 games last season, and shot 9 times.
John Lucas has only 9 career assists in the playoffs.
Richard Jefferson attempted 9 fgs and 9 fts in the playoffs last year, two seasons ago he averaged 9 pts per game.
Ian Clark hit 9 three pointers (9-11) in a game against Northeastern last November. He played 9 games in January and shot .600 from three (30 for 50).
Trey Burke was drafted #9, he scored more than 9 points in every game last season except for 2. Against Michael Carter Williams in the Tourney and againts South Dakota and Nate Wolters. Two players who were taller than Burke and are NBA talent. Burke shot 3 for 20 against them, he went on to shoot 13-54 in the summer league.

Last season Gordon Hayward played in 72 games, 7 games less than Paul Boy George. However, George played 800 more minutes than Hayward last season.
Trey Burke had 7 fgs and 7 fts in the national title games.
Rudy Gobert had 7 games with 3 or more blocks (while averaging 22 minutes in 27 total games

Alec Burks scored 0 points in 7 games last season. He averaged 5:38 playing time in those games. Playing time was hard to come by for young Alec, he didn't play in 18 games, played less than 6 minutes in 7 others, and only passed 20 minutes 25 times. Despite being #9 on the team in total minutes played he was ranked 7th in fts made (would be higher if he could shoot better than 71% from the stripe).
Derrick Favors is ranked 7th all time for Jazz Players blocks per game. Last season Favors had the 12th most blocks in the NBA (130) Brook Lopez was ranked 7th in the NBA in blocks with 154. Derrick played 500 minutes less than Lopez. If Favors blocks shots at the same rate but increased his minutes to level of Lopez, then Favors would rank 6th in NBA in blocks. If Favors minutes are increased to 30 mpg he easily projects to be top 5 in the league for blocks per game.

Tinsley was the latest Jazz man to wear #6. Although he struggled to shoot or penetrate into the lane I liked Jamal and his contributions.
Otheyus Jeffers wore #6 in 2010.
Howard Eisley had a brief return showing with the Jazz in 2005. Wasn't it Gordon Monson who Eisley swore at on his way out of town? Bet that reunion was fun.
Jay Humphries wore #6 in 1993 when he was acquired for Blue Edwards and Eric Murdock. Strangley Humphries was traded for Edwards, who was then with the Celtics in February of 1995.
