Curious trade idea

No before you all lambasted me for looking at a trade while the team is playing so well. Also keep in mind I am not sure I would do it because I want to see what this team can do.

So here goes...

The pelicans are a young team but just good enough to be battling for the 8th playoff spot and just bad enough not to get a good draft pick.

So I propose a hayward, favors exum or draft picks (I am hoping draft picks)for Anthony Davis and filler. (Exum might be the deal breaker for me)

Exum, holiday, Frazier
Hield, stephenson
Hayward, cunningham
Favors. Jones
Asik. Ajinca, diallo

It would be after the season and hayward would be a sign and trade but the pelicans now look better and deeper. If exum isn't there then they get 3 future picks

Hill, mack, neto
Hood, burks? Or a free agent
Evans, johnson, ingle
Davis, lyles. Boom boy
Gobert, withey or ajinca

I would love to see burks added and exum kept with a draft pick or 2 going out.

If the jazz kept their 2017 picks they might get Ferguson and Bryant to fill holes.

It would be hard not to put Davis and Gobert in the best front line in the world. Jazz lose a lot of depth but gain a super star.

I think if it was hayward, favors burks and 2 future firsts for davis, Evans and ajinca I would probably do it

What's the point?

NO says no. Why would they trade a player who will never have a contract that's even close to his value? Jazz would give basically anything for Davis. Your package is hella weak.. and Exum is your dealbreaker??? Shows how hella weak ur package is.

Sorry

Starting price would be the maximum amount of draft picks possible (cuz they'd need a lot of chances to get the next Anthony Davis) + all the best players on the Jazz

Yeah, this is a pipe dream for all other 29 teams in the league. Of course you trade Favors, Exum, and every conceivable draft pick for Davis because it isn't a fair trade for New Orleans.

Good effort Croc, but unless you mention 'Curry', 'Westbrook' or 'Harden' I think New Orleans would politely hang up the phone...

Wait you mean NO isn't just sitting by the phone anxiously waiting to take a streaming pile of crap for their budding megastar? Get outa here! You had me going there for a minute.

In all seriousness though their owner had been wanting the 'Jazz' name back for the longest time.

I think he'll do the Davis for 'Jazz' trade in a heartbeat.

Both teams say no. It would be bad for Utah.

Davis is injury prone and you'd have to give too much to get him. Jazz W/L record would be worse after the trade.

Continuing to look for a trade opportunity to improve or tweak the team makes complete sense. Blowing it up makes no sense at all and is throwing away everything done over the last 3-4 years.

if this actually happened in a star wars movie (didn't see 'em), you might convince me to sit thru it.

Rogue One looks to be pretty good. Star Wars universe but not centered on the Jedi/Sith. It's based in the past and is the story of how the Rebellion got the death star plans.

Interesting.

Jazz should definitely do that trade if they had the chance. New orleans would never do it though.

Davis is growing increasingly unhappy: https://hoopshype.com/player/anthony-davis

Perhaps he'll get super pissed and will demand a trade? Of course, if New Orleans trades him they're going to get a lot in return as just about every team would have no problem giving up talent and picks for him. It comes down to this: would the team who obtained him be better having him or would they have stripped their team of talent and picks, creating a similar situation as New Orleans is suffering from (not enough talent to compliment Davis)?
