D-Will Tearin' It Up

From DraftExpress:

D-Will looking really out of game shape and extremely frustrated. 2 points on 1/6 shooting and 5 turnovers.

End of the third quarter. Dexia Mons is beating Besiktas. 53-45. Deron Williams: 2 points (1/7 FG), 5 assists, 5 turnovers.

Mons up by 11 on Besiktas now. They lost by 8 in Istanbul. Deron Williams playing like he's being paid by Mons.

Mons just beating the crap out of Besiktas. This is embarrassing. Up by 17, 3:28 left. Entire team's budget=1/3rd of Deron Williams' salary.

The end. Dexia Mons 74-Besiktas 63. D-Will, out of the EuroCup "despite" his 7 points (3/13 in FG), 7 assists and 6 turnovers.

Does anyone really think he's going to gear up and put it on the line to play in the Turkish league? Dude's getting his paycheck and trying to put a little heat on the cartels, nothing more and nothing less.

It's also within the realm of believability that he thought he could waltz in, half-*** it, and still look like MJ. American notions of non-American ball are slow to catch up.

Highly plausible.

Two thoughts...

#1 Wow, that's pretty sad. After watching the horribleness of the Kanter games, Dwill must really suck right now. Those guys were jokes. I think I could have been euros leading scorer.
#2 Dwill is another product of Jerry's system. He was never a speed burner. He relied a lot on Boozer and Memo's shooting, pick and rolls, and Jerry's motion offense. Very few players look better after they leave the Jazz. Boozer is utterly worthless on the Bulls. At least for the Jazz he could score a little.

It's sad for him, our NJ trade put stock up. KANTER + FAVORS for 2PTS, 5TOs in europe team?

think he could earn several millions in Utah this year.

I opened this thread hoping to read about his hammy or ACL. This is a good second option though.

Sloan always could turn average NBA scorers into very productive players in his system. Heck, Malone had little in the way of an outside shot in college; neither did Millsap. Even Hornacek was more productive in Sloan's system.
