Leaving with class. He just wasn't a good fit with this group and never really had a chance to make an impact.

I still say Murry and Cooley make the squad.

Good. Nothing against him personally, but he didn't really light it up out there at at all. There was a toughness about him I appreciated, but not enough to compensate for everything else.

More importantly, I like concept that vets that don't bring much to the table are not sticking around.

I'm very surprised as he was getting a decent run in the preseason games and appeared to be doing find.

I saw this coming when he caught an oop the other night and layed it in. The Dahntay Jones of years gone by that would've dunked that **** would have made the team.

I think it was smart to give him a good amount of time to at least see what he could provide. Obviously didn't wow them enough with the time he was given though.

Good move by DL. Jones was better than Felix, but thats not saying much. Should easily be able to find a better wing from one of the other camp rosters.

I'm curious about Qunicy Miller, whom Denver cut. I think he's a rotation player unless there's some hidden concern.

Interesting. I didn't expect that, having in mind how much playing time he got. I guess precisely that lead the coaching staff to get a better feel of how much he can actually contribute and the final assessment was against keeping him.

Better now, yes. Felix and Murry, if they stick, will develop in the D-League.
Definitely see this as a change, though. Both Sloan and Corbin loved to have some of those declining vets on the roster. The "vets" now are Novak and Evans.

Jazz almost never start season with 15 players.
More to come?
That was KOC's rule of thumb. It won't necessarily be DL's. And remember, some of these contracts are either non-guaranteed or only partially guaranteed. The magical cut-down date is really January 10th. On that day, ALL contracts become fully guaranteed.

Thanks for the memories, Dahntay. Although your stay was brief, we hope your toughness rubbed off on a few players.

I don't. Nothing special athletically. Advertised as a shooter coming out, but couldn't even hit 40% in D-League.

He couldn't handle the ball very well. PG and wings have to be able to handle the ball and he was very weak in that regard. Was average defensively, and he needed to be very good to excellent to make the team.
