What's new

DAL(6-19) @ UTA (16-10) - Gamethread

I didn't see the game, as I was giving 240 minutes of my life to Disney's overblown ode to the uncanny valley last night. But after watching these highlights, I am left a little raw. I'm talking about the Jazz' warm up outfits, of course.
They were hideous.

I like the vote of confidence Quin gave Hayward by calling the play for him off the late timeout. At the Sixers game, I noticed him doing the hang-dog thing after bad plays, in the huddle or away from the ball. He really needs to develop the "I screwed up, now you pay" Kobe/Stockton killer instinct.

The way he's been performing, one off game is not the end of the world. I thought he played pretty well against the Kings. I'm just disappointed for him because he probably wanted to showcase his skills on ESPN.

But with 7 turnovers, it was definitely an off-game. Turnovers were the only reason this game was close.

Great observation.

Is it just me, or does Rodney seem more athletic this year? The elevation and body control on the buzzer beater were impressive.

Or is it just more confidence that allows his athleticism to show?

Anything special about his last offseason's training regimen? Tips from Hayward? Imagine if his strength, balance, other physical attributes progress the way Haywards's have?

Sorry, just questions, no answers.

Yes.
And he seems faster to me too

He showed fantastic body control on those plays.

That drive where he took on 3 defenders and powered it in was something he probably couldn't have done last year. That was pretty Haywardesque. The fact that he is rebuilding his body probably explains some of the inconsistency and nagging injury we see from him. Once his new muscle is baseline, he is going to blow up completely.
