No sir! Things to do would be appreciated. I'm bringing some hiking gear just in case (yes, I know the good hikes will probably be down south)
Way wrong.
So many awesome places to hike in slc. In fact I think even better than down south but I prefer elevation, lush forests, rivers and lakes, and wildlife so I'm biased to the Wasatch front mountains. Big and little cottonwood canyon, Ogden canyon, provo canyon, timpanogas, the list goes on and on.

I'm headed to Vegas on the 26th and going fishing on the 25th so hopefully we can meet up on one of those first few days.

We need to get gameface to do a poker game on the 22nd. (Saturday)

those landscapes (in terms of lush forests and rivers and lakes and stuff) are things we mostly have up here in the Rockies in Alberta already, so it's things I've already done lots-- I think that's why so many from my neck of the woods always rave about Zion National Park (we don't have that sort of desert landscape up here).

Of course, I love hiking of all types, and i'll definitely hit some trails up in Utah while I'm there.

that's what I'm thinking!! I'd only so "oh wait, no!" if I come from the 22-26 and the only playoff game held is on that Saturday.

Makes sense. I would love to visit some of those mountains and forests in canada.

I went to Victoria and Vancouver on a cruise once but that's the only time I been to Canada.

there are some freaking awesome trails near Banff and Jasper, man.

There's this one ~8 hour day hike that's just straight scrambling on like this loose gravel for the last part, and it's just sublime. Gotta watch out for bears tho, and sometimes cougars :)

The only issue with Northern Utah is that April is the end of the ski season. The best trails will still be buried in snow.

To some hot springs that are really cool and even have a waterfall you can walk behind and stick your head through a hole in the rocks into the water

There is even some southern utah vibe/scenery at the hot springs too.

I could throw my BBQ grill into the back of my truck and we could grill some steaks, burgers, stuffed jalapeños, etc up there too.

Let me know what you think.
If we do the poker night on that Saturday then maybe a few other jazzfanzers would want to go too.

Only about an hour drive from slc

Never been to Utah in April, but wouldn't everything be covered in snow?

Sent from my A0001 using JazzFanz mobile app

No. Up above like 6000 feet yes but there are plenty of hikes and places that wont be covered in snow. Like the place i posted most likely wont be covered in snow (though it could be if we get lots of late snow.) since its only around 5500 feet if i had to guess.

I did do that hike in april a few years ago and the trail had quite a bit of ice on it and was quite treacherous (my sister had two really hard falls and bruised her tailbone pretty bad) but there was only a little bit of snow and it was only in the parts that are always in shadow.

I think we can all see why fish needs to be careful of cougars. Dude even goes in disguise sometimes. Meow.

Wes snyder crazy eyed serpico might be here at that time too?

What a coincidence, on April 22 I will be flying to Amsterdam. Not as good as Utah of course..
