What's new

Dallas trading Luka to the Lakers for Anthony Davis! Utah involved.

Of course it is. This is how he looked at Madrid right before he came to the NBA:

Right. But just speaking to the point that he’s not in shape because he’s too injured to condition? If you’re 6’ 8” and 25 years old, there is no scenario that you should be 280 pounds or whatever unless you’re at the very least overeating like crazy. What’s more, is that it seems he has a drinking problem which as an absolute principle works against your body’s ability to recover in almost every facet.

I think we're far away from any reasonable expectation of this, but it would be great (for the Jazz) if in hindsight the trade ends of hurting both teams.

Where's the info about a drinking problem coming from?

I dont think there are any reports that indicate a drinking problem on "regular Joe" standards.. but for athletes the standards are different.

He has said in the past he likes to relax with a beer and a cigarette, and that he generally loves a good beer.

He has also coined "recovery beer" as a thing and Mavs apparently have had some in the locker room as last year he came straight from there to a press conference with a can.

After they made the finals laat year there was a funny incident that people overreacted to when he came to press with a beer can and team officials took the can from his hands. But it was just because it was the wrong brand and they returned it to him in a cup.

On one hand I think too much importance is placed on athletes being nutrition robots who have to eat a perfect diet to perform, but Luka does seem like it doesn't take it seriously enough.

I generally agree. But if I were running an organization, I'd be particularly interested in managing the most critical phases of recovery periods.

Dammit I wish Luka played for us now. Recovery beer, brilliant. When I used to walk to and from work, I'd keep a six pack in the fridge for the walk home, victory beers. My boss hated it, I hated him.

Recovery beer is the greatest innovation since The MacGyver Drinking Game.

AD himself said "its nothing" and that he probably plays in the next game. So source was kinda close to the subject.

Jesus, guys. Really? Have people not watched sports for decades? Players say this all the time. His previous injury was basically muscles directly connected to this injury. He fell down like he was shot…but yeah, not missing time seemed probable.

That's just what AD does. If you've been watched him at all you would know he can have the kind of reaction player make when they tear a muscle over anything.
