What's new

Dame Time

Keyonte potentially being closer to ready now than not should make you want Lillard more imo, not less.
With Clarkson, Sexy, and THT on the roster? No, we need minutes for KG at this point and I don't care at who's expense it comes at in that rotation. I'd rather spend game minutes giving KG3 some burn than riding out Dame's retirement for the right to be annihilated by Denver.

So play Keyonte next to Lillard?

- No thanks.

Off the bench?

- Criminal.
Coming off the bench would be criminal? Mitchell didn’t even start games at the beginning, he’s also 2 years younger than Mitchell and not nearly as athletic or explosive as Mitchell. IMO he will have an adjustment period. Nothing wrong with him coming off the bench, and I suspect that will be his role at the very least to start the year.

You can give minutes to both players. Our roster being stronger makes us make more sense for Dame

I had predicted before Summer League that Keyonte would come off the bench and start around Christmas.

Now if he becomes the Summer League MVP and a stellar preseason, I wouldn’t rule him out starting come opening night.

Could Keyonte have a Kessler like route to starting? I highly doubt he's the Day 1 starter, but I could see it becoming obvious he should be the starter not too far in.

Seems like another reason to not start Sexton if you think he's a long term piece. I just wonder how he would handle being demoted by a rookie. Would be Cleveland all over again for him.

From Jake Fischer:

For the Blazers’ hopes of finding a multi-team package with Miami, there is optimism among league personnel that Portland will find at least a first-round pick from another franchise that’s more keen to welcome Tyler Herro. Although outside of early rumblings about Brooklyn and Chicago, the only team even loosely connected as a Herro suitor has been Utah.
