Dante Exum - point guard ?!?!

Dante starts and Gobert goes 10/12 with 25 pts in 25 minutes , it was a dunkathon with these 2...……..I hope Exum starts against Toronto because I don't think Ibaka can handle Gobert if Exum keeps feeding him lobs.

While I really hope this ends up being a repeat performance against the Raptors, I don't think it's being stressed enough how god damn ****ing awful the Knicks defense is, and in particularly their interior defense. Poor Fizdale has to play a ****ing zone because none of his forwards or centers outside of Vonleh know how to defend and their guards aren't much better outside of Frank the Tank.

If Exum penetrates at will against Toronto and Gobert gets spoonfed lobs all game then I'll really start to believe Exum has taken a proper leap but I'm doubtful we see it happen the way it did against the Knicks. Raptors are ultra flexible and have many ways to counter the Exum/Gobert PnR if need be, like actually having big guys in Ibaka and Siakam who can defend the PnR and if Exum is getting the better of Lowry or Vanvleet they can just put Kawhi, OG or Green on him and any one of those guys would do a better job than the entire Knicks perimeter defense combined.

Vucevic destroyed Toronto inside without Valenciunas to muscle out opposing Centers. Orlando walked all over Toronto in a surprising win showing Ibaka can be outplayed inside Toronto's defense. Exum breaks the paint and Gobert puts Ibaka in a terrible spot trying to keep Gobert out of the paint. Can the 6' tall tandem of Lowry and VanFleet put the handcuffs on Exum of floating lobs over them or do they have to bring bigger players and open up more space for Gobert in the middle.

It's almost like you didn't read my post. Only thing I'll add is Vucevic has the added threat of being able to pop on the PnR whereas Gobert doesn't have that, so in that case it makes it easier to game plan to defend the Exum/Gobert PnR, particularly if Favors is on the floor too and Siakam/Ibaka can control the paint together without really having to leave their man.

I really want Exum to **** on Toronto as an Exum stan but it will be an objectively superior defense by any metric that he's going up against.

I like you, Serbio, but your player evaluations leave a ****-load to be desired. Probably a good time to stop, before you get exposed with all the Exum-hating clowns who don't know their *** from a hole in the ground.

Reverse psychology! I should be thanked for bringing the best out of Dante.
