Dante Exum 's pre-draft measurements and how he compares with 12 other draftees playing PG or PG/SG

height: 6' 6" (#1, tied with Dinwiddie)
weight: 196 lbs (average)
wingspan: 6' 9.5" (#1)
standing reach: 8' 7" (#1, tied with Dinwiddie)
body fat: 6.4% (average)
hand length: 8.50" (#3)
hand width: 9.50" (#1)
max vertical: 34.5 (average)
max vertical reach: 11' 5.5" (#1)
agility 10.75 secs (#1)
sprint: 3.19 secs (#2, behind D.Kane)

Wow... Where the hell is AKMVP who talking about Exum being average at latheral quikness ??? A PG who is that tall and has this kind of speed, is a legitimate TOP 5 or even TOP 3 Pick.

Those combine athletic testing #'s are extremely misleading at best.

Agreed.

I <3 these measurements for exum at the pg position

I wouldn't say he looks extremely quick on the screen. But then again it's hard to tell on his videos. He certainly doesn't look real explosive. Not vertically anyway., And that is in line with the combine testing. 34.5 isn't great. I'm hoping he can develop a little more in that area.

I can't wait to see him on an NBA court and see how fast he really is. He still feels like a big mystery.

This. Another reason why I don't see any comparison to Jordan or Bryant he's not an explosive leaper. It does appears that he has a quick first step and great open court speed, but then again this is relative to who he is playing and I simply don't know enough about his competition. He couldn't do anything against Smart, but looked good against most of the other U19 PG's. Really not sure what to make of Exum. However I don't share other peoples enthusiasm.

Agility and sprint measurements are important simply because it works. The quickest PGs in the league always had the top scores with these.
3/4 court sprint: Chris Paul (3.22), Steph Curry (3.28), Damian Lillard (3.34)...........Dante Exum (3.19) [lower is better] https://vine.co/v/MXThYKYmiM6

Also one thing you can't dispute is he has such large hands (9.5" width), which should help with ball-handling and rebounding.

Would I rather have this 3.19 than a 3.49? Yes, obviously. Athleticism is important. But these mean next to nothing, really. There are plenty of guys who are quicker than Exum who stink or never even set foot on an NBA court.

The actual measurements are far more accurate (even though guys still cheat those) than the athletic testing that data means next to nothing. If so you believe Cody Zellers is faster than Dante Exum or that Doug McDermott can jump higher than Blake Griffin. A lot of the results are that absurd when comparing two or more players.

He's 6'4.5" in socks. That is exactly my measurement and I'm never measured in shoes. I know they play in their shoes, but their height should be measured with socks. Their weight is listed without shoes. Sorry, rant over.

Honestly they should be measured barefoot IMO. Guys cheat with their shoes and socks. A 1/2 inch here or there can really impact their draft status so guys will try to add more where ever they realistically can.

Damn, thought I had an idea to make a ton of money with prospective draftees, but Nike has already beat me to it.

What was Jordan's hand measurement? Big hands are important in dominance of the basketball was what he showed to us.

I haven't seen the footage, but he scored 7 points in 11 minutes (drew 2 shooting fouls), while slowed by injury. Was Smart only guarding him part of the time?
