What's new

Dat rotation do

Exum is not starting. He will only be 19 years old and he didn't even play basketball last year. He will be our 6th man starting the year. Let him get some experience. Don't call for Snyder's head when he comes off the bench either.

Trey - Exum - Garrett (Neto won't be coming over)
Burks - Exum
Hayward - Hood
Kanter - Evans/Veteran stretch 4
Favors - Gobert

DL already said Kanter and Favors can play together. If they didn't believe in both those 2 guys we would have made a move for a stretch 4. The front office believes in the Kanter Favors combo. If Duncan and Splitter can do it. A more athletic Favors and Kanter can do it. We just needed a good coach.
We still need a athletic stretch 4 to back up Kanter when teams go really small. Need that flexibility. But stretch 4's are everywhere. Legit bigs are not.

Our starting lineup already has chemistry. And Snyder will improve that. Exum and Hood and Gobert will need to earn minutes.

Also @Twin Towers, I think the Neto situation is yet to be determined. With Exum's ability to fill the 2 spot in addition to the big guard role that Garrett had last year. Neto will be in summer league this year, is in good contract situation, etc. I say it is 50/50. Not like Garrett is a vet.

I like Frye a lot as a stretch 4. I am hoping for somebody more athletic though. Someone who can play the 3 and the 4. As Hood might struggle and we still don't know Hayward's status.
Somebody who can guard the quick athletic stretch 4's also. Just someone more versatile.
Marvin is OK but I think we need a change. I question his heart and aggression.

This.

Exum is going to be dope, but he is a PROJECT, almost of Kanter proportion. Jazz fans need to realize we are developing him, and he isn't ready made. Don't start calling for trades, etc. he was the BPA, but now we have to be patient as he and the coaches put in the work.

So, then, toss out a name. The FA list is easy to find.

Woj reported today that Anderson is on the block.

He gives us scoring, shooting and spreads the floor.

John Reid: League source says Pelicans are not shopping forward Ryan Anderson to any teams. Twitter @JohnReid64 - See more at: https://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/new_orleans_pelicans#sthash.FDy220dl.dpuf

Dan Woike: Per @Jeff Goodman, Clippers also talked to NOLA about Ryan Anderson, but LAC was told he wasn't available. Twitter @DanWoikeSports - See more at: https://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/new_orleans_pelicans#sthash.FDy220dl.dpuf

The Los Angeles Clippers have inquired about trading for Ryan Anderson but the New Orleans Pelicans aren't making Anderson available, according to sources close to the process. Sources told ESPN.com that the Pelicans, after agreeing to a deal in principle to trade for Houston Rockets center Omer Asik, want to bring Asik in to form a three-man frontcourt rotation in New Orleans with Anderson and face of the franchise Anthony Davis. Those were also posted right after Woj reported.

Exum may not be the day 1 starter but lets be real, he will be the starting PG before the all star break. Top 5 picks don't ride the pine. It would be one thing if we already had a Veteran PG but Burke is young as well and only has a 65 game head start on Exum. We will work Exum in but i fully expect him to be the Starter after about 20-30 games.

After looking at the free agent list......Marvin Williams might be the most talented stretch 4 who can also play the 3 there is.

Not sure he wants to come back though and be a back up.

James Southerland - Good shooter and athletic. 7-1 wingspan. Shot 39% from 3 in his last year of college. Not a great rebounder though. Marvin is a better rebounder.

Maybe there is some Euro 3/4's who can shoot?

Mike Scott (Hawks) - Has ties to Snyder. Athletic and his shot looked decent during the playoffs. He had some really big moments. Restricted free agent though. But Atlanta Drafted a PF and they have Millsap and Horford.

I am leaning towards Marvin still. But I don't think we can get him. Maybe we could trade Jeremy Evans for a 3/4 who can shoot.
