What's new

David Stern is a Pong Mongler on the Jim Rome Show today

So how did he fix it?

If Stern really fixed things, why did the Jazz leapfrog over so many other teams in the draft last year? Why would Cleveland get the #1 draft pick?

And if Stern really fixed stuff, why isn't NY, LA, or Chicago still playing in the playoffs?

I don't buy this conspiracy nonsense. I do buy superstar calls. those happen and indeed effect games. The nonsense that Lebron and Dwade get away with is so frustrating.

I've been meaning to analyze the process for fairness but I've been too drunk to have the stamina to take one for the team by undertaking the arduous task. Hate to jump to conclusions but this one looked pretty bad on the heels of the Cleveland score.

I thought it was pretty funny at the end how Stern starts making fun of Rome and Rome gets extremely butt hurt.

"Listen, I have to call someone important, like Stephen A. Smith now, he's up next." *Sarcastic Stern Voice* I laughed my *** off.

It's been 3 minutes and PKM hasn't responded to you. What's wrong?

How unprofessional is Stern with personal jabs? Have you stopped beating your wife yet? Wow ya something is not right with Stern.

I honestly don't know if I've ever heard or seen a more offensive and unprofessional interview from a Commissioner in my life. Holy hell....

So Stern can ask a question, "have you stopped beating your wife yet" and yet he'll fine a player for not doing interviews after a heated game? How can you ask for professionalism out of your players when you don't?

Stern still hasn't gotten it. The reason why so many people speculate about stuff being fixed is because of the lack of transparency his league shows. Are refs EVER held accountable? And whenever anyone ever questions Stern about anything, he shuts down and gets all pissed off like he did in this interview.

How much different would people's perception of the league be if Stern was more open and less pompous?
"Ha ha, yeah I understand why people could think that it was fixed. But I want to reassure our fans that is was, is, and never will be fixed. Integrity is my #1 priority. This is a tremendous league with great history. We would never disgrace the league and all its' history for a "fixing" of the lotto. And Jim, if you look at it, no matter who won, there would be conspiracy theorists. Whether it was MJ winning, Brooklyn, etc. Think if we fixed things in this league that OKC would be in the championship while LA, Chicago, Boston, NY, etc were out?"

Done and done. Conspiracy squashed, people would understand, and the interview would continue. No need to get all weird and creepy with asking Rome if he had stopped beating his wife. Yikes.

The "have you stopped beating your wife yet?" is a question I learned about in 7th grade journalism class. Stern was making the point that he was being set-up.

I thought it was ok for Rome to ask. A fair share of fans geniunely believe that the lottery is fixed or at least not transparent enough. Stern comes off as petty and sad. Stern also refused to go on the Dan Patrick show today. Buck up comish.

Yeah some people don't get the fact that he was just using that statement as an example of a loaded question. Rome asked him "Was the fix in for this one?" insinuating that there are fixes, so even if Stern said no, he would be saying he didn't call the fix in. Some people are getting faked offended by it for no reason.

not true....however,
let's talk about ESPN's smith and that English weirdo
i hate them! I want to punch them. they suck.
