To be fair, he doesn't even seem to know what he should be doing on offense.

This "offense" is all about suicidal paint attacks by small guards, and that needs spacing. Kessler cannot provide that, so he sort of just floats. It's the same reason why Lauri has spent most of the game parked at the perimeter, spectating the action.
