The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have waived guards Dee Brown and Adam Haluska. Brown and Haluska signed with the Mavericks as free agents on September 27.

Brown (6-0, 185) appeared in six preseason games for Dallas and averaged 2.2 points and 2.0 assists in 10.3 minutes per game.

Haluska (6-5, 210) saw action in three preseason games and averaged 1.7 points and 0.7 assists in 6.0 minutes per game.

The Mavericks current roster stands at 15 players.

Dee Brown, he ROCKS, eh!? I wonder what his plans are now. Given the time of year, he may well plan on stayin in the States this year, maybe with a D-league team. If things aren't lookin better by mid-summer next year, he'll probably head back to Europe.

Why would it make any sense for Utah to waive Sundiata Gaines and then sign Dee Brown when they already have Williams, Watson and Price under-contract?

Ah, Dee Brown. He might make my list of all-time worst Jazz Scrubs...

That would actually be a fun thread. Someone get on that.

Anybuddy who can, at 180 lbs, slam down 9 mixed drinks in an hour, mess wit some ho for a spell, then go play videos games at 2 AM could not possibly be the worst. Add to that havin the charisma it takes to con the team's star players into headin down a path debauchery and depravity, and ya gotcho self sumthin extry special, I figure.

If we didn't have Watson and Price, I'd say maybe only if he can stop drinking for a season.

Dee was my favorite bench cheerleader. I'd give him a non-playing roster spot for that.
Interesting point, I forgot about Dee's cheerleading capabilities. Seriously, I think every team needs a guy to give the Madsen-eque towel-wave or the Scalabrine-high fives. You need a guy like that when you're on the road against a cupcake in January and your team comes out with no energy whatsoever.

I'd sign Dee as long as it wasn't as a player or a coach.

Why in the world would Deron Williams need 3 backups? Sheesh.

maybe just in case, DW seemed to miss more games due to 'personal reason' than injuries,
i remember last year he missed game against Cavs and 76ers due to 'un-disclosed personal reason' that made Eric Maynor famous.

this season, DW already missed few games in pre-season and one of them against the kings was due to 'personal reason'.....whatever that it is.

If for a given game, DW misses it due to 'personal reason', Earl Watson misses it due to 'been attacked by his ex-wife', Price misses game due to 'fake injuries (just like Gilbert Areana did)'....

then we need Dee!!

Very astute observation. It aint near as unlikely as we would like to think, eh?

My vote goes to Tom Gugliotta, in that he led the team in minutes played per scrubbiness. Plus, took 24 starts from Mehmet Okur on a team that missed the playoffs by a game.
