DeMarcus Cousins is what we need

I like, almost love Cousins. The question is more what you give up to get him. I'm not sure how much I give up to get Cousins.

The only big that I would take over Cousins is Flavors. Not because Flavors is a better player but because he has the better work ethic. I would love to have Cousins but I can already hear Sloan at the start of the preseason saying "And some guys were just jackpotting around all summer and came to camp not ready to play." The Ostertag lines all over again.
If the Jazz draft Flavors, then it is only fitting that his number is 31.

As for Favors, I would consider taking him or maybe even Monroe over Cousins if the Jazz can somehow trade up that high. Utah has a big 270+ pound center named Fesenko who would be at least as good as Cousins would be for the first year or two. By contrast, Favors and maybe Monroe could contribute by the end of year 1 at the PF spot.

If they got the playing time. Which Koufos and Fesenko didn't. Oh, and Flavors and Cousins are probably more talented anyway. Cousins might be.

Fesenko is not talented or even skilled at the game of basketball at all. I don't know if you're aware of that yet.

I love this quote from John Thompson regarding DeMarcus Cousins. "You can calm down a fool before you can resurrect a corpse." I hope the Jazz front office take this to heart.

EDIT: The quote is from this excellent Cousins Outside The Lines feature: https://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=5293484
