Dennis Lindsey "scouting" in Europe

somebody called my home city izmir? Izmir is one of the most interesting, beautiful city with hottest woman in the world, still i prefer Russian girls.

Problem is: I look turkish, so I wouldn't have any of that "oooh he must be a tourist" mojo going for me.

Lol, so true, as long as you don't speak, you could pass as native anywhere in Turkey. But you wouldn't be hopeless, don't worry at all, girls here like tall dudes so you'd do way better than me.

Just a tip for you, when you talk with young people in Turkey, especially with young beautiful women, tell them you're Canadian, you'll be like a superstar. When you talk to older people however, tell them you're from Kosovo, they will hug you :)

Oh you were from Izmir too, or did I just confuse addictionary with you? Because I remember as he was İzmirli too...

Why Canadian, out of curiosity? First time I've heard this. In most of the countries I've traveled to, including Europe during the years of the Bush administration, Americans were still prefered over Canadians.

They teach that here too. yes it is wrong. The only reason it get's to be a continent is because Europeans want it to be one. It's not. My evidence...

Quoting again because the thread is borked anyway and just wanted to note I spent a good amount of time reading up on the history of continents in geographical study as well as watching a lot of tectonic shift videos. Good stuff.

I bet DL knew even before the start of the season that Corbin will be gone by the end of it. He dangled that "improve the defense" carrot just so he has an excuse to let Ty go. Anyone thinking DL made the decision last week is definitely drinking the kool aid.

The problem isn't that you're a complete moron, Nick (although I could see how people would come to that conclusion with the combination of your irritating practice of typing like a ten year-old girl and your habit of regularly starting threads that pose ridiculous false dichotomies or other insane, pseudo-intellectual exercises - e.g. "Would you rather have the first pick or have Ty Corbin fired?".)

The problem is that you have the adolescent habit of determining something that you, as a fan, would be excited about and then bending and interpreting all evidence available to back up your claim - no matter how insane or detached from reality it is.

We all know the Jazz need a starting small forward. That doesn't mean that Julius Randle is one, even though he falls in our likely draft range.
We all know we need an excellent coach, and we all like Messina. That doesn't mean that Dennis Lindsey is having veal picatta and an espresso at his Italian villa tomorrow.

When you bend evidence to fit the way you want the world to be, that doesn't make you intelligent. It makes you sound crazy. And it's a major part of the reason that there's a large number of people on this site that can't stand you.

Goz goz goztepeee :) I do not know where addictionary is from
Karşıyaka! Karşıyaka! :p

No particular reason really. I said that way because he's Canadian and Albanian(made mistake here but close enough, same for Turks). If he were an American and Albanian I'd tell him to say he was American.

No mistake!! Parents + older brother were born in Kosovo. Most people don't know wtf that country is though, so I identify by my language/culture when referring to my roots moreso than the actual geographic region (dad is from Deçan, mom is from Gjakovë).

PS: your advice is ingenious, & made me laugh. Albanians love the Turks btw (well, the ones I've met at least).

I'll be going to Europe this summer-- sadly, no time to check out Izmir/Istanbul but maybe one day!

all i know is that this country was the the reason for the usa to bring democracy to ex-yugoslavia

A continent has always been defined by convention, not by physical geography...India and Europe are in no way analogous.

Yes by European convention. They kinda ruled the world for a while. Not all countries teach 7 continents some say there are 6. I am with them on this and if there are 7 then the seventh is Greenland.

They are too analogous. They both are part of the continent Eurasia. India sits on it's own continental plate that is pushing into Eurasia while Europe does not sit on its own plate. So yeah India has a better argument for being a continent than Europe does. Take that Messina.

There are many people from the Balkans living in Turkey, especially in Aegian region, İzmir. They were resettled with "population exchange" after WWI. Maybe one of your ancestors lives in İzmir, who knows?
