What's new

Dennis Schroeder-PG Germany about to blow up!

I agree with Eenie, I see some Rondo in him. PKM?

I LOVED his defense and especially lateral movement in that regard. 1b would be his patients in the pick and roll. Our young bigs could get a lot of easy buckets with a kid like that.

Bodhi, I am seriously thrilled that you haven't stopped posting altogether.

I was pissed that we didn't have our 'worm' on the Jazz plane during the deadline again this year :P

I noticed that all the examples of his midrange shot had him on the move, whereas his three point shooting he is set. Look at his FT% and his 3pt%. Both are above average. That tells me that he can develop a reliable midrange game. He just seeds to square up more.

I think his around the basket finishing as well as floater will come along. Remember, the kid is 19.

I think Rondo was a much better finisher in college (shot close to 50% from the field, with a majority of his makes being pretty close to the paint).

I think the opposite is with Schröder. Finishing ability isn't fine-tuned, but possesses the shooting.

Having only seen him play one game its way hard to make a general comparison to Rondo. I can see it, somewhat, physically. I'd like to see more because Rondos elephant ear sized hands gives him incredible control of the ball.

But mostly its Rajon's IQ that is hard to measure against at this stage. As has been said by a nat'l media guy that will not be named.. "Rondo's playing chess while everyone else is playinb checkers."

I haven't watched the replay.. so take it with a grain.. but I also made the mental note that his release point was ridiculously low.. could be another reason he could struggle in the mid-range..

Haha, count me as more pissed. That was really fun.

I check in once a day or so but I don't have much to add lately. The draft will change that along with the offseason stuff. I mean I am the dude that called Damian Lillard from the jump..........

Hard to learn stuff from highlight videos, they show the good stuff (and in this case the bad stuff) but leave out the average grind of the whole rest of the game.

Having said that, i'm in. I have never seen a player with that kind of lateral defensive quickness, and while that can be learned to a degree, for him to already have it at such a high level is huge. As for his hands; meh. He grew up with them, he'll learn to compensate. He'll just have to protect the ball better. If he's at 14 and we pick him, I'm all for it. Let's hope our scouts are watching.

(it would be funny assuming that we re-sign mo to watch him be unable to get past the kid in practice. mo's defense on ball is kinda iffy.)

He looks like a guy who could already play spot minutes and would have a TON of upside. Defense looks incredible and that WILL translate to some extent.

I'm very intrigued.

If it's a later first round pick, I say do it.

What makes me hesitate? His schwag earrings.

I'm impressed. However, is he another PG like Tinsley? Great passer and good leader. But all an opposing defense has to do is clog the middle and let him shoot? I do however love his ability to break down defenses by driving to the lane. Something Tinsley can not do. But dealing with PGs who can't shoot from the outside the past few years has me a bit skeptical.

I saw a few mninutes of the Nike Hoops summit replay. Schroeder looks good, at least for playihng in that type of game.

Why was Bongo suspended for 23 games?

Because the NCAA is a corrupt organization that makes zero sense.
