What's new

Dennis Schroeder-PG Germany about to blow up!

The more I watch Schroeder play, the more I am convinced that he has great potential to be a top 10 PG in the NBA. He's super quick. He has a little Tony Parker/ Rajon Rando in him.

Tony Parker/Rajon Rondo? Pretty sure that would mean he is John Stoctkon. Those are two of the most dissimilar point guards in the league. Parker is not a huge passer, and Rondo is a terrible shooter. Put the two good parts together, and you have John stockton. Put the two bad parts together and you have Earl Watson...

Easy B_line. I said a little bit of PArker and Rondo, not a lot. Essentially I am saying that he has elite quickness like parker and long arms and good on ball defense like Rondo

Still, any combination of good from those two would be awesome. Is this kid really as good as you keep saying?

I don't care about his shooting form, but his release is so slowwww

I think that will come with time. As long as he's able to hit an open jump shot, I don't care how fast or how slow it is. He's not going to be a spot up shooter for us, he's gonna hit the occasional 3's when called upon.

The thing you have to remember when it come's to the flaws in his game, this kid is only 19 years old! Of course he is going to have high turnovers at first, and be an inconsistent shooter. Don't forget that Russell Westbrook was a very high TO point guard only a few years ago. He was young, and with time those are things that you work to improve on. The thing I really liked about this kid is even though he isn't a great finisher around the rim, he's not afraid to drive inside against bigger defenders. In the NBA this is going to mean a lot of time at the free throw line and that means wins. (Given that he is surrounded by a good supporting cast). He's very young and could be a great true point guard.

He's young which means he's going to get better. He has been playing in the Europe league. I mostly like him because he's a good defender. Championship teams have good defense. Big Al killed us with his lack of defense.

I bet I'm not the only one who can't wait for the playoffs to be over so we can see what the Jazz do in the draft.

Nobody has talked about potentially the biggest problem that he might have; being German. Not a big deal for a PF or C to be international, they aren't typically the team leader, but this guy needs to eventually run the offence, call the plays, and be able to motivate the players to preform on the court. Does he even speak english yet? I have read that he wasn't going to join the draft until next year, but the combination of low talent level in this years draft and his hoops summit performance convinced him to join this years draft.

Yeah, yeah, Tony Parker, Steve Nash (is he french or english canadian?), Rubio, apparantly it works ok, I am just concerned about having an international player as the team leader.

Hope the video below answers your question (we covered this in the draft thread last week).

I don't think the language will be an issue for him.

Odd interview, going from German to English to German.

Found out that Gambia (where his mom is from) is officially and English speaking country (though it's probably got a lot of dialect in it, think of Mutumbo) so assuming his mom taught him English, I retract my concerns.
