Deron Williams Appreciation Thread

Love him, hate him. You can't deny we have lost one of the league's best talents. He brought that winning mentality back to the Jazz which we lost after Stockton and Malone left.

Unfortunately, having left so abruptly and so soon after Coach Sloan's departure, Williams' legacy in Utah will always be associated with the resignation of Mr. Sloan.

Hopefully, this thread will focus on some of the more positive and exciting memories that D-Will has given us Jazz fans.

Thank you D-Will!

Thanks Deron. Sad it had to go down like this, but will always remember him for the great things he did on the court.

My favorite memory was the Game winner against the Lakers in the playoffs

Love all the clutch shots he hit...was a killer in 4th quarter...good luck replacing that. I also give him props for all the good he did in the community while here...sadly that will be overlooked. He really grew as a person in Utah despite what all the haters say. Great player and great person...he will be missed.

I thought his departure was quite classy. I honestly thought he'd be a little more pissy.

I'm all for moving forward, but you just can't help but feel the Jazz screwed the pooch on this one just a little bit. At least its how I feel. Keeping Matthews, or Korver... someone D-will had chemistry with and maybe things wouldn't have gone to ****. You just never know.

Took a peek at the NJ fans forum. They are ecstatic to have him...

This a Deron Appreciation Thread. You can spew somewhere else...

Catch ya on the flip side, D-Will.

damn, i'm still a bit shocked, i don't think it's going to hit me until i see him in a nets uniform. i thought he'd be here a long long time.

last game representing the Utah Jazz turned out to be a all star game

I can't believe they actually traded him. I mean, I've had a whole day to process this and I'm still in utter shock. He was the most clutch player we had in this era (post Stockton/Malone). Say what you will, the man has a drive to win that most players in the pros lack after they get their big contract. I will miss him a lot, I'm secretly praying that when his contract runs out in 2 seasons he'll re-sign back here! One can wish, right?

I hope so too. But after the way D-Will was lowballed by the management, I don't see that happening. I mean they did what they did to prevent getting low-balled by the player. But I still think D-Will was treated unfairly. And in the past 2 weeks since Sloan's retirement, Deron has been treated unfairly by a lot of Jazz fans. Hope the Nets fans will treat him better.
