The obvious truth of the whole thing is that the NBA is no different than professional wrestling. David Stern is whats-his-name setting the whole thing up. All the players are payed and given scripts according to how it needs to play out to keep a supportive fan-base. Enough good players are spread around through the "draft" and through "trades" to keep fans around the country happy so they keep spending their money on the NBA. The teams with the most name recognition perennially win the championship to ensure that large fan-bases, especially those spread out across geographical and socio-economically are duped into continuing to spend their money. The refs are how most of this is policed, along with the scripts the players are required to follow. For example, Karl Malone held the ball in the perfect position for Jordan to steal it during the finals just as it was scripted. Everyone in the whole arena and watching on tv knew that Jordan was going to steal the ball. We all saw him running the baseline. People were screaming at him to let him know Jordan was coming, but the big joke was that he already knew. It was in the script.

It is a vast conspiracy almost on the order of the JFK assassination or Obama covering up his terrorist-Islam roots to get "elected".
