Excerpts of Jazz guard Deron Williams' interview with the media Sunday after the 2011 NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles.

Nineteen minutes of action: It felt pretty good. [Gregg Popovich] kept putting me in. I was having fun.

Free-agent rumors: I guess I'm going to have to get used to it. I guess until I'm a free agent, until I've made a decision, I guess I'm going to have to get used to it.

Carmelo Anthony: He's been going through a lot, man. But I know he's a tough individual. I know he's sick of the same questions night in and night out. … Hopefully I don't have to go through that.

Kobe Bryant: He's been doing that for years. He dominated the game today. Rebounding the ball, scoring the ball. That's Kobe.

Report that he wants to play for the New York Knicks: Who said it? … I've never met [him] in my life. Hamburger — I've had a hamburger. … So you're [him]. Who did you hear it from? … Exactly. So it's not credible. You can't put him on the witness stand. You've got nothing to talk about.

Derrick Rose: MVP candidate. Playing the best basketball right now of anyone in the league. Dominating games. Special player. … I think he's one of the best athletes in the game. He's quick, he's fast, he's explosive. Everybody said his weakness is shooting. He's answered that. He's taken his game to a whole new level.

Blake Griffin: I think his all-around game is phenomenal. I don't see many weaknesses in his game. … When he figures out how to play and learns the game — he's already unstoppable — but it's going to be worse.

So, this quote tells me one of two things.

One, Deron is somebody that gets really mad and defensive when somebody finds out something he didn't want them to.

Or..

Two, Deron is a badass and calls people on their ******** as soon as it spews out of their mouth.

I sincerely hope it's the second one.

But does this not in any way concenr you guys? He is in the mold of LBJ and Melo. If he was of the same fabric as KD then we would have nothing to worry about. KD is the most genuine mega star in the league. I wish other players would try to emulate him.

personally, I think he's responsible for global warming too

oh wait, that's a myth, isn't it?

I think I just need a better set of tea leaves.

It is pretty obvious its the second one unless you have already made up your mind that DW wants to leave. Personally, I laughed my butt off when I read his response.

"Blake Griffin: I think his all-around game is phenomenal. I don't see many weaknesses in his game. … When he figures out how to play and learns the game — he's already unstoppable — but it's going to be worse."

He is going to the Clippers!

Deron signed an extension with Utah before he had to just like KD signed one with OKC. KD has several years left on his second contract because he hasn't been in the league as long as Deron. If OKC starts to struggle over the next couple years, you can bet that the KD free agent rumors will be running rampant. Oh yes, and Lebron and Melo also signed extensions like the one Durant signed too.

From Brian Smith's tweet:

Jazz's Williams said he plans to follow LeBron James' style during free agency. Won't answer questions until he makes a decision.

Can't wait for The Decision 2, on ESPN U.

The guy who put out the New York rumor was Ken Berger.

So Deron calls this dude out in front of the entirety of the assembled media and this is all that dude has to say: (via his twitter) Meanwhile, Deron Williams calls @CBSSports report that he stated desire last summer to go to NY as free agent if Amar'e went "not credible." D-Will: "When it comes from my mouth, when I say I want to go to New York, then you can believe it."

That about tells you what you need to know. Got another Bucher on our hands.

Deron seems like a grumpy, unaccountable, transparent douche to me right now. Maybe he's always been that way but Sloan and his teammates masked it better in the past, I don't know. But from all the vibes I get, he's still not happy and it's going to end ugly.

I disagree. I think Deron is wholly grumpy when he's losing. I think it wears on him. He just wants to win.

Thus, the unaccountability. When we lose, I guess it's not his fault at all and he just goes around pouting (hence the grumpiness) and feigning leadership and saying the right things as if he's all about Utahr all the while, fiddling with his mustache as he hatches his plan for free agency. Hence the transparency.

What do I know? Maybe I'm just grumpy today.
