What's new

Derrick Favors now with "Dwight Howard-type shoulders"

100% .. I feel very confident that we've got one of the best group of young guys in the league.

What about the Clippers?

Eric Gordon, DeAndre Jordon, Aminu, Bledsoe (surly you like him), Blake Griffin?

Everything about this is 100% correct. Including the part that says Clippers. If it was any other team in the league I would say there young core could develop into a championship caliber team. But its the Clippers so they wont.

Yep, they do too, lol.
Gordon, Jordan, and Griffin .. damn.

Plus they have Minnesota's unprotected 2012 pick. That's what makes me say damn...

But we have Golden State's pick, plus our own pick will likely be in the lottery. Hmm...maybe in a few years we'll develop some sort of rivalry with the Clippers...never thought I'd say that.

Or you don't get it. The difference between Bogut and Jeremy Evans isn't how much off the ground their head is from the floor, the difference is Jeremy Evans weighs 80 pounds less than Bogut.

Thank you captain obvious. I'll have to write that down. Perhaps that is what I meant by natural size giving a player an advantage. I don't know if I can take this forum much longer, the average intelligence here is on par with a small prairie animal.

Personally I am not that high on DeAndre Jordan. He got all the tools but his brain is like Samuel Dalembert's. Solid defensive center with low basketball IQ, will be regarded as an overpaid player whom his team will try to unload but can't.

They would have been a truly promising young team if they landed Irving. Too bad.

Okay, I'm late to the party and have no dog in the fight, but THAT was pretty funny.

Who cares if he looks exactly like Dwight. The point is he is getting stronger, and building mass.
The kid is a hard worker, and looks like he willing to put in the time to get better.

This is great news for us.

Look, I don't know what argument you were TRYING to make, but this is the argument you've been making. TALL = important.

Yes, my argument was Bogut's natural size lets him anchor a defense better than a 6'9" or 6'10" guy.

being a natural 7 footer has some slight advantages over a longer armed 6'10 guy. Otherwise we could have ran AK and or Jeremy Evans at center who both have well into the 9's in standing reach.

What, that someone could get their panties in a twist because they're terrible at communicating their point?

Yeah, I guess THAT is pretty funny.

Nope. Though I rarely use BOLD in my posts, this one was called for and cleverly used to make my point. What was funny was one poster calling another poster "captain obvious" and then proceeding, in the next sentence, to state, "Perhaps that is what I meant by natural size giving a player an advantage."

It's okay if no one else finds that funny, but I did.

The original argument was the importance of standing reach for a center, not height or weight related. I mentioned Bogut's natural height in addition to his standing reach gave him an advantage over Kanter as a center. The words were then misconstrued by GVC that I thought Evans could be a center, and piggybacked off of by Numberica. But the point is, Numberica, you don't have to butt into every conversation halfway in. There is no award to being the first one with 10K posts.

Dang, I missed that. That is pretty good.

No they weren't.

How was I supposed to understand this? If Evans or AK were their same height AND weighed 280, they could potentially be very good centers (if they do indeed have 9'+ standing reaches). You probably shouldn't call other people stupid when you've clearly demonstrated in this thread that you're far from a ****ing genius.

In other words:

1. You're the only one allowed to insult others' intelligence.

2. Everyone should just politely nod when you post something ridiculous.

I feel sorry for any man/woman who has to put up with your **** on a daily basis.

No they weren't.

That is exactly what I meant by natural size advantage. If AK was 7 ft, logic dictates he would weigh a lot more, probably enough to play center. There is a direct correlation between height and weight. Apparently a couple of our esteemed members here can't draw logical conclusions so will be more careful in the future.

Too bad for Ben Wallace...he'll never make it as an NBA center.

That is, Bogut's weight advantage over Evans and AK has much more to do with his frame than his height. If AK were an inch or two taller, he'd still be a thin gangly dude, ill-suited to play the 5.

This conversation needs to change direction...idk if i can take another post about whether Jazz4ever's sausage has more length or bulk, and whether he himself is aware of which it is, or which is more important....
