What's new

Detroit Pistons @ Utah Jazz, 8pm Central Time

I question putting trey in the last second after sitting for so long. But he hit the shot, so whatever.

I wonder if Snyder picked up on the same negative body language that we did, and recognized that a single shot in a close game - in a season where we're not going to the playoffs anyway - wasn't as important as keeping Trey bought in. He makes it, he feels good. He doesn't make it, Snyder still shows confidence in him.

Favors making FT's vs. missing FT's was the difference between us usually losing this kind of game and winning it.

And Hayward is the one who created the shot for Burke, he got the defense to shift to his side, then he hit Burke with the pass that forced the entire defense to rotate and not be balanced, allowing Trey to blow by his man.

Or, go with the guy who has been their before and done it over the Rookies when it comes to a one possession set piece.

And it dates back to college...for both of them.
Sure, hayward got the Cleveland shot to fall. But clutch he is not.
And I like hayward...a lot. But I like winning more.

News flash, there's no such thing as clutch. It's a fantasy.

When I watch QS I think he processes about 10 times the info of an average person. I think he keeps pretty good tabs on the emotions of his team. He also spends a lot of time with Trey.

Time after time Trey hits the big shot, whole time after time hayward misses or bounces it off his own foot. So....yeah.

Locke had some stat recently saying the complete opposite - Trey's clutch shooting this year has been horrible(like in the 20s terrible), while Hayward's has been the best in the team. That said Hayward has been turning the ball over in end of quarters a lot.

Robert Horry begs to differ. As does MJ, Kobe, Reggie Miller, and others.

I believe the argument is that those people do not shoot any better in the clutch than they do normally. It is only that we remember buzzer beaters and what have you, and those will typically be given to excellent shooters like Jordan And Horry.

I missed that. But probably only because I think Locke is a douche and can't stand to listen to him at all.
I'm old school, so I hate any radio guy that isn't Hot Rod. :)
