Devin getting a little bit of love

Any ups on teams he's played for can be accounted for by natural ebb and flow of a team.

lol, what does that even mean? He didn't contribute to any success or positivity on any team he ever played on?
Ya, ok, hater. Harris has contributed greatly to every team he's ever played for before: Badgers, Mavs, and Nets.

Just because a player is a veteran, doesn't mean they provide veteran leadership by default.

I guess you could say the same about Bell, and it's a true statement. However, I think that Devon's time to shine as a leader is this next season. The Nets seem to be the team you're judging his leader ship skills on, because they didn't accomplish anything. It wouldn't matter who you throw on the Nets, they wouldn't accomplish anything either.

He'll have MUCH better talent around him now, so we'll know that once he has the help with time to prepare, can he lead?

Bottom line, you're not right or wrong.....yet.

Tell us more, HeavenHarris. You clearly don't have an underlying objective in even existing here.

Oh, and lol. For good measure.

I didn't read this thread but generally I'm optimistic about Harris. What I don't like is he's kind of a head down driver. When he decides to go, he's going to shoot, and he'll only rack up a 5th of the vision passes Deron used to make. He also doesn't have anything close to Deron's arsenal of stop and pop, and his jumpshot is pretty mediocre.

On the good side, he's lightning fast, a willing passer, doesn't look like he's gunning for numbers, and has the right mentality. And to repudiate my point above, he's actually a pretty good driver from what I saw. He beats his man so he's always getting a solid shot up close, he's just not the world's greatest finisher. I think his defense is also going to emerge as a major plus.

On vision, he's not elite. But he's smart, he won't try to do too much, and he'll play to win which I like.

Under Sloan's guiding hand, PG was probably the most important position on the court, so we needed a really good one in order to be effective as a team. Coach Ty may well switch the emphasis elsewhere. The Lakers manage just fine with the ageless Derek Fisher, for instance, as did the Bulls with little John Paxson. Neither were/are nearly as productive as Devin Harris...
