Did we just pull another Raul Lopez and lost out on another Tony Parker?

Trey Burke is small and might struggle with injuries. Lil guys typically do. Meanwhile, anyone paying attention to the Sixers? MCW anyone???????

Too bad you weren't around to inform the Jazz FO of this pre-draft.

Burke doesn't have to be the best pg in the draft. He needs to be adequate and quality starter. The jazz can't afford many other max player guys.

Did they really need me to explain this to them? Don't they have resources (Google) to teach them the (un)successful rate of sub 6 ft players in the nba?

MCW couldn't even shoot 40% in College - any word on the success rate in NBA of the 21 year old (almost 22) College players with sub 40% shooting in NCAA? Yes, he is tearing it up now, but he was not exactly a slam dunk selection. Burke is a year younger and outplayed him in NCAA by quite a wide margin. Without crystal ball, this one would be pretty hard to predict on the draft night, so don't make it sound so obvious - it was not.

Good post

We could have had Paul George and kawhi Leonard instead of Hayward and burks. Put mcw in there for burks, and that is a pretty formidable team to go along with favors and kanter.

Thing is, though, that we did pretty well with Hayward and the burks pick is looking pretty darn good right now. Both are probably the second best of what was left at the time they were picked.

Mcw, if he really is as good as these first three games, is a complete surprise to everyone, and not really anyone could have seen that coming. Burke will be good though. I would be willing to bet Burke will have a very good career as a jazz point guard.

If those guys had been darfted by the Jazz they would be different players than they are today. It's wrong to assume that if someone is blowing up in another system that they would have done the same in ours... especially because they would probably have been mostly sitting on the bench until this year.

Pet peeve alert

Burke is a legit 6'1" per nba draft measurements. He also has a good wing span. By adding strength he'll be just a little under sized.
