What's new

Different map of Europe.

probably second from left or first on right is how the media would portray us, I think the girl in the middle is probably more the reality. Anyway what a bunch of lovely fit young girls, I've really gotta go and lift some ****ing weights before I start my day.

Interesting, how do typical Aussie women look like? Aren't Aussies a mix of different ethnicities and do not really have a typical look?
Here are some ladies from Aussie rugby team, which one is most representative???

I picture the 2nd from the left to be the typical aussie

I worked with one Aussie girl and she was half aboriginal and did not look like any of those girls in the picture. Such a sweet, always smiling and positive person. We killed our coworkers in beer pong during one party lol. Not sure though why would she move to Canada to spend 6 month in miserable winter when you can be on the beach 12 month back in Australia.

So this is how Europe would look like if suddenly dominating nation would disappear from that country and second most populous nation would become dominant. Very interesting

Did you play Risk against yourself for five straight days to come up with this map?

Depending on what you do the pay can be a hell of a lot better especially for graduates. Its about 7 degrees at the moment, beach weather it ain't.

I picture Aussies looking like the blonde on our right.

I don't think they ever invaded Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia, something is not right there.

I bet it's counting any land on which British soldiers have fought so WW2 probably explains that.

But that makes this map disengenous.

There was no British soldiers on Baltic lands in WW2. First USSR occupied them all except Finland since Fins fought back and lost only a bit of the land but kept their independence. Than Germans came and took over for 4 years. And then Soviets came back and took over again for 40+ years.

Found the cause.

Britain and Russia fought over the Baltics in 1918-19.

lol, what? 1918 Lithuania became independent country, until then they were under Russian empire and in 1915 Germans took over until 1918. No british soldier ever stepped on Lithuania land with intent to invade it.

Found what you were taking about. It was not an invasion, it was a naval support mission to ged rid of Bolshevik occupation in Latvia and Estonia. Technically none of british soldiers ever stepped on the Baltic land as it was all naval fights in the Baltic sea vs Russians. So again, map is incorrect.

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest with you. I saw this map in a tweet and shared with you guys without checking the details. It appears that it is a map from a 2012 The Telegraph article.

Looking from where you clarified, it might be an exaggerated one to make their point. The point remains though. The British imperialist / colonialist invasion was really one of its kind. I think Hollywood and other aspects of globalism finished the job culturally.

Hence, we are able to come together here as people from all different nations that speak the English language and support an American basketball team.

"Lithuania: [none] though before becoming King, Henry IV took part in a crusade there with the Teutonic Knights."
