What's new

Do the Jazz abandon "the process" this summer?

His numbers all season have been pedestrian, which you explained away by saying he plays alongside Curry who takes away opportunities from him. The problem with that argument is that every game he's played all season (including playoffs) without Curry he has consistently been even worse. I think we need to start exploring the possibility that the reason his numbers are even remotely decent to begin with is because of Curry, not the other way around. The dude is basically invisible when he doesn't have Green/Thompson/Curry sucking defenders away from him

Max contract my ***.

That's been my thought all along. Actually I thought they should have traded him before the deadline but understand why they didn't.

he will get the max and absolutely disappoint whoever signs him.

Way to delete your dumbass post about Reggie Jackson, who according to you, put up bench numbers last year, pgab. I guess you deleted your dumbass post because you quickly realized a 16M contract makes a lot more sense for a team with only one other legit future piece (Drummond) especially after RJax put up 20/9/5 per game in the two months he was there and first given a chance to start as compared to 20M a year for a 11/8 guy who you yourself has called a role player for a team who likey will have to re-sign Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Exum and Hood going forward.

You're awful. Just go hide again.

Did some research and you're absolutely right...

Over the last two seasons (including playoffs), games where Barnes played and Curry was Injured/DNP:

14-47 FG, 29.8%
2-12 3PT, 16.7%
6-6 FT, 100%
4.8 rpg
1.8 apg
0.0 bpg
0.4 spg
1.2 TO/g
7.4 ppg

He has been absolute garbage when given the opportunity to play without a superstar alongside him. But he did shoot 100% on Free Throws, that could explain why PGAB wants him so bad? We do need better FT shooters on the team...

I'm wondering why the Spurs didn't max Danny Green a few years back. I mean, his numbers were really good and he just didn't get the shots to produce like crazy.

So far in the playoffs with curry missing a good chunk of games Harrison Barnes #'s are: 31 minutes per game, 36% from the field, 26% from three, attempting 2 free throws per game, 5 rebounds per game, 1.3 assists per game, 0.7 steals, 0.1 blocks, and 9.3 points per game.

So without curry his minutes went up a tiny amount and his field goal %, three point %, assists, and points all went down and his turnovers went up a little.
The only thing that got better is his rebounding (5.1 vs 4.9).

You always should max a guy that averages 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, less than 1 steal, and 0.1 blocks per game with shooting percentages of 36% from the field and 26% from three.

There was some question of whether Barnes was being limited due to having curry on the team and taking all the shots or if curry being out there actually got Barnes more open looks and helped him.
So far (small sample size) it looks like he is worse without curry.

tldr version: Barnes isnt that good.

I'd be more interested to see Barnes without Green. That would force him into more of playmaking role, Curry or not. Without Curry his role is pretty much the same but without Green I think his role would change and force him out of he is used to.

Anyone want to bother to look up Barne's stats without Green on the floor vs w/ Green on?
I ain't got the skills for that ish brah

Seriously, we're probably better off maxing out Joe Ingles rather than Barnes for all the good he would do if he leaves GS

lol. PGAB deleted all of his posts. I just scrolled through the first few pages, there a several posts where people quoted his posts but no posts from PGAB. What a douche! Way to cover your tracks pg.

He has always done that.

IF you look back at the really old draft threads you will see him say some really erroneous stuff in quotes, but then notice the actual post is deleted.

I know, but it still boggles my mind that he does this. He actually takes the time to erase all of those posts. He does realize he's been quoted many times over, right? Lol
