let's do this my way

if we go #5 to #8, would you trade this pick + gs pick + burke to move up and take one of this guys or maybe randle?

i think it's a no brainer but none of the top3 will bite
Yes. I would for Wiggins or Jabari.. but not for Smart.

Yes, definitely two lol's up for me with those posts.

I know I'll get ripped for this, but I believe (without a shadow of a doubt) Utah has a better chance of keeping Jabari as a lifer than they do Wiggins. Wiggins may be the better talent, but Parker might be the better long-term fit. Wiggins = Deron. He'd stay on a MAX contract until he could become an UFA. Dude is getting a MONSTER contract from Adidas or Nike (close to $200M). Those companies want Wiggins in a MAJOR market. Whatever Wiggins would have to sacrifice initially by bolting would be more than made up by in endorsements.

It would be very interesting, indeed, if the Jazz had their choice between the two. If I were DL in that case I'd take a decent asset from the #2 team to trade down, let them draft Wiggins and then take Parker.

I'd take Wiggins and let Adidas, the NBA commish, and the Lakers make it worth my while to trade his rights.
No idea what that looks like, but those mentioned above deserve to be extorted.

That's true. He's certainly locked up for several years. A trade would fetch a few very good players or a boatload of draft picks (a la the 'Melo and Deron trades). Of course, those picks would need to come from other teams because anything out of the the top-10 wouldn't be worth it. I guess it's just depends on how disparate (or not) their performances are this season. Will Wiggins have the fire and work ethic to harness his enormous potential and clearly separate himself from the pack? Or do others not quite as gifted have equally impressive seasons because they're out there busting their humps?

In that case, do you draft Wiggins and keep him tied to Utah for a half dozen + seasons (initial contract and then match a MAX deal offer)? Or do you openly try to trade his draft rights in 2014? I'm greedy. I'd try to get as much as possible in 2014. 1) No worse than trading down to #5; PLUS 2) an exceptional young talent; PLUS 3) two future, unrestricted firsts, preferably that the trading partner has acquired from other teams who have traditionally been cellar-dwellers. That's my price...let the bidding war begin. And if no one offers a king's ransom for Wiggins, then you draft him and revisit offers when it comes time to give him a MAX deal.

Guess what guys! hotttnickkk hasn't seen hunger in the eyes of a high schooler he's only seen in highlights.

If you don't see them in highlights - when do you expect to see them?

Something along those lines. Yep.

If he's not the number one pick, it's not the first time a highly-regarded highschooler dropped from the top spot during the college season. I think Wiggins looks better than Harrison Barnes did in high school, but Barnes was being compared to Kobe. June is a long ways off, so don't be shocked if Wiggins plays a little worse than expected and someone (or a couple "someones") play way better than expected...dropping Wiggins a spot or two. I'm just sayin' it could happen.

Maybe I missed it, but have we seen Wiggins play college basketball yet? It's probably not too early to tear this kid to shreds is my guess.
