That's the point. Occasionally, a #31 pick is as valuable as a top 10-15 pick if the Euro is signed and cannot come over for a couple of years. First rounders are locked into the rookie scale for four years. Second rounders can be enticed over with big contracts much sooner. I.E. Nikola Pekovic was considered a top ten pick but went #31 due to his contract situation. Trading a late lottery pick for him at #31 could have made sense.

No dude, this would never ever happen.

I got that. I think your forgetting Neto. 4 draft picks minus one Euro plus neto = 4 rooks.

If he plays like he did last night he has a great chance. Finally got to sit down, and watch part of the game. Jabari blew me away.
First big game of his career under the lights, and he shined. My oh my did he shine. He can hit the jumper, drive, and dunk in yo face!

Wiggins will have his moments this season, and I thought he looked good too. This is going back and forth all year imo.

The great news is both these guys look awesome. It's a win for us most importantly

I'm on the Parker bandwagon. If the Jazz do get 3 or 4 I really hope they can find a way to turn that into Parker, though Randle or Exum would be a good consolation prize.

Maybe I'm having too high of expectations or I don't know that much about his game, but I'd be really disappointed if they got Smart.

Having a skewed value at #31 would help the Jazz combine picks and move up like you were suggesting. No way they turn 2 2nd rounders and the GSW pick into Smart or Exum though. They could try working a package of unprotected 2015 and 2017, and the GSW 2017 for another top pick this summer but doubtful that gets them close to a high enough pick.

I don't think we have good enough pieces to move up once in the top 5...it will take an all star to move that needle this year and we don't have one.

If the Jazz get the #1 or #2 pick, there is no way the don't pick Wiggins or Parker. Assuming that, here is our depth chart next year:

PG: Trey Burke, Free Agent/Raul Neto
SG: Gordan Hayward, Alec Burks
SF: Andrew Wiggins/Jabari Parker, Draft Pick/Free Agent
PF: Derrick Favors, Jeremy Evans
C: Enes Kanter, Rudy Gobert

What is there really left to say other than this: Man, it will be an epic tragedy if we do not get a top 3 pick...

I disagree. It will be a tragedy if we do not get a top 4 pick.

Dante Exum really excites me and I think he can be as "transcendent" as Parker.

Honestly, Wiggins has all that potential but he is missing something that Parker and Randle both have. Parker and Randle both seem like the leaders on their teams. They seem like the main actors in a Broadway play whereas Wiggins blends in and most of the time just seems like another one of the guys. He's like a supporting actor who, at one point in most Plays, has a brilliant 5 minute soliloquy that everyone looks back on and says, "wow, that was great"

He's the Shane Walsh of basketball.
Or the Benny Blanco. Steals the show.

The more I watch Jabari Parker play, the more I am convinced that he will be the best player in the 2014 draft class. Big question of course is, will he stay in school or go on an LDS mission after being drafted.

That mission I'd say would set his skills back wouldn't it? You can't just work hard for nothing. Being a year away from basketball will surely deteriorate your skills.

Jabari Parker better not be going on some dumb mission. His mission needs to be a bad *** in a Utah Jazz uniform

As a fan I would lament Parkers Choice to go on a mission, But as a person, I would applaud such a decision. I think its great to believe in something bigger than yourself, and though a team can be a manifestation of something bigger than yourself, the sacrifices he'd make to go on a mission would render him nothing short of a remarkable human being. he'd have my respect, if that was his choice.

That sounds good and gave me the warm and fuzzies but it would still be one the dumbest decision since signing Corbin as coach.

I Like to watch basketball. I don't really care how many missionaries there are. If he goes on a mission(odds 1000:1 he doesn't) I would be disappointed.

Not keeping me up at night though.

Parker reminds me of Carmelo Anthony. A big small forward who could play some 4 like Melo does in NY. He has range and can also get to the basket, but seems less ball-dominant than Melo, which is good. He was being guarded by Kansas' center/PF in the 2nd half, which explains his collapse down the stretch. Impressive player.

Not sure of Wiggins comparison yet. I heard Chad Ford mention a young Tracy McGrady, but I think he moves better without the basketball than McGrady. Maybe Grant Hill?

One scout that was on Cowherd said that Wiggins reminds him a lot of...Rudy Gay. Ouch. That is my issue with Wiggins...You could have Jordan. Or McGrady. Or Hill...or you could have Rudy Gay.

Parker is Pierce RIGHT NOW. His ceiling might be a tad bit lower than Wiggins, but his floor is a 10 year All-Star. Wiggins ceiling is higher than Parker's, but his floor is A LOT lower.
