Nobody is pining for Boozer. But that doesn't mean fans can't be just a little frustrated that the player that's supposed to be the ox of our inside game - who is on the books longer than anybody and for between the 3rd and 2nd most money on the team - plays so unbelievably timid and inconsistent. Why should any of us care as much about poor single performances from our lone elite player or a random poor game from our role players in contrast? Jefferson doesn't play one game once in a while where he plays timid, that's the theme. Sometimes he produces, sometimes he doesn't, but it's rarely because he outworks the other team and it's never because he plays a fundamental game.
And just so we're all clear, Jefferson has had to win me over, so maybe my opinion on this matter doesn't mean much. But the Jazz acquiring him drew my ire not because I was a Boozer lover (I was not/am not), it's because Jefferson simply hasn't played a winning game.
I believe he's a talented, good guy and I'm truly pulling for him. Why wouldn't I or why wouldn't we all? But lets face facts; Jefferson was all but advertised as our savior and he's been anything but.
Most players don't change 7 years into their career, but I'm hoping Jefferson is the anomaly.
