Does Anyone Even Care Anymore? Gamethread Jazz at Tankers 4/7/13 @ 6pm MST

Just read the recap on nba.com, two things i thought were noteworthy.

"As soon as we got to the arena, we were watching the game between the Lakers and the Clippers and we saw the Lakers were losing. Immediately, I saw the expression on everyone's face change. We all knew that if they lost and if we won, that would put us up on them. Everyone was ecstatic and you could tell by everyone's demeanor when we took that court that it was time to take care of business."
-- Jazz guard Randy Foye

In what appears to be a nice battle for this year's Sixth Man of the Year award, the Jazz's Derrick Favors continues to state his case. He notched his ninth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds in 30 minutes

Maybe if we are lucky Jazz will win out all there games ... GS and Houston .. drop all there's .. that way Jazz , Lakers and Dallas make it in ... Jazz end up playing Denver in the first round and spank them 4 games to 1 :D

Wow! Is Favors a candidate for sixth man of the year. If so that is both cool and scary. Would hate it if this award motivated Ty to make him a bench player next year and resign Al.

It doesn't make any sense to do that, but either does the playing time of the C4.

nearly forced curry to go over-and-back on the pick-and-roll seconds before the block. terrific sequence there. .
It was all Favors on that possession. To those who were worried Derrick lacks fire, notice him yelling and pointing. Then he runs back into the lane after forcing Curry out deep. The dunk was impressive, but look at him right after...no celebrating, he gets back into position to prevent a follow-up. I am MoTown, but I'm also STOKED to see Favors AND Kanter play 30+ mins next season. Both those guys are young, hungry and have shown they can play with high energy. There will be growing pains, but there will also be jaw-dropping moments.

FIXED

al and sap will get extended

There was a few posts about the officiating but I thought there would be more, guess everybody was too busy complaining about Corbin, Mo, Foye and Al. Well reading back on the thread guess tonight Al wasn't all that complained about.

Back to the officiating on the drive into work 1280 played a clip from David Locke going ballistic when they called Hayward for the travel late in the game and then another official stepped in and overruled to call a foul. This is what may have impressed me the most about last night, as bad as they were and not getting any calls in the past the Jazz get soft, get demoralized and quit taking it inside. However last night they stayed aggressive on D (for the most part) and didn't get away from trying to score inside (again for the most part).

Still can't believe it took about 4min into the 3rd Qtr for the Jazz to get a FT and it took GSW to intentionally foul Al (yep Al got to the FT line amazing) to get that call. The refs were letting them both play physical but GSW got away with a lot more and it wasn't even close. The GSW had 4 fouls total called against them in the first half (2per qtr) again no FT's for the Jazz, then in the 3rd Qtr 6 total fouls for 5 total FT's and Al's 3 FT's all because the GSW intentionally fouled him to try and stop the layup. Then in the 4th Qtr GSW had 3 fouls called against them until the final 30sec where they fouled 2x intentionally to get into the bonus and force FT's (Sap went 1 for 2).

Oh, yes, and, as usual, he had a negative plus/minus.
You do know this is the worst stat in all of sports right.

Well the NBA is on a mission to get the Lakers in the playoffs, not only will the Lakers see generous calls from NBA refs, but so will anyone playing the jazz.

Its already happening.
Last 4 games the Jazz have taken 36 free throws while opponents have combined to take 70.
