Does Crymello Want Out of Denver?

I listened to the podcast of Ric Bucher on the Doug Gottlieb Show (which is on the ESPN link above) and he interestingly mentioned Deron Williams as someone to watch out with regards to players becoming free agents...

As far as I know Deron has 2 more years to go on his contract ... He also lives outside of salt lake during summer now and will not continue with his Dodge Barrage tournament next year (according to his interview on KFAN)..

Is this a sign of things to come??????????? Has anyone heard anything else on this??????????? What would the Jazz do if he does decide to leave????????????

Yeah, I heard that too as I was listening live yesterday.

If I recall correctly, Gottlieb asked Bucher something like, "Who are some of the big stars who might be switching teams?" Bucher answered with (Not exact quote, just as close as I can remember). "Possibly someone like Deron Williams. He's unhappy with some of the changes in the team. Didn't like losing Ronnie Brewer, etc." I was kind of surprised to hear them say that he might want out. Especially since the Jazz turned right around and made a big move to get Al Jefferson.

Bucher just throws stuff to the wall and hopes it sticks for the most part. From what I heard, Deron was beyond pleased with the acquisition of Al Jefferson and that's more recent than Brewer leaving.

if he leaves i know what will happen. Jazz fans will make up stories and talk crap about him ala derek fisher and then tnt guys can blast jazz fans. DWill is going to get a huge contract thrown at him from mark cuban. mark it down. So what lies will jazz fans come up with about him?

What stories exactly did Jazz fans make up about Fisher?

Obviously with a new collective bargaining agreement looming things can change but as of right now it doesn't matter if Cuban throws a huge contract cause the Jazz can offer more, if it is all just about money which is all your statement was hinting at.
Careful Utah is pretty close to Colorado we might infect you with our backwards bigoted ways there we wouldn't want you to become ignorant would we.

I pray that he stays in Denver and that they overpay 20+ million for years and years just to keep him. That would be awesome.

As long as Melo is in Denver, he's an easy game for the Jazz. Just like T-mac, Melo hurts his team just as much as he helps. His ego just won't allow him to do all the "dirty work" that's required to be a true leader and championship player.

Nothing would kill us more if Denver actually used their money wisely and built themselves a team. I hope they continue to give the max out to morons like Kmart and Melo while holding onto washed up vets like Billups and ignoring their SG and C positions.

Get Melo to sign an extension first then trade AK and 2 future first round picks. Doubtful, but crazier things have happened in recent years.

False, he may travel but he has a membership up at Glenwild in Park City and he golfs up there a TON.

Edit*

I guess he really did say that. This is alarming to me. He said he always made an effort to live here in the offseason. Also he payed close to 200,000 for his membership to Glenwild in Park City. He always talked about how he loves the golf here. He even got to play with Michael Jordan there a few times last year. I think its odd he would fork over that much money to a golf course and be gone during the only time of the year it is open. A little alarming to me.

Yes I thought so too ... also why discontinue the Dodgeball tournament??? I'm sure he doesn't have to do anything other than just turning up on the day.. surely he has people organising it...

To discontinue it sounds to me like he's trying to distance himself from Utah.. I dunno .. just not a very good vibe from this situation.. Does anyone know if his kids go to school in Utah or not?

I think everyone just assumes Deron will be a Jazz forever.. but who knows?? May be we can try to groom Hayward into a point forward??

A) Why are we talking about Carmello in the Jazz forum? The Jazz aren't going after him and the Nuggets would never trade him to a division rival.

B) Can we worry about Deron's contract when it's actually up? Who gives a **** if he doesn't live here in the off-season? I wouldn't want live here in the summer either, if I had the means I'd probably keep another residence somewhere else. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I could've sworn John Stockton had a similar off-season arrangement. The most loyal player in the history of the franchise did not spend July-September in Utah.

God I hate the off-season around here. Some of you folks need to step away from your computers and read a book. Or take an interest in baseball.

Exactly! The panic button around here goes off in a minute on this forum. VERY few players live in the city they play. FACT.

On another note, I am not at all thrilled that superstars n the NBA have 0 loyalty to their team and more importantly the fans. Yes they (Bron, Wade, Bosh, maybe Melo) have every right to leave, but that is not how the NBA reached the success it has. The superstars were associated with their team. I pray that the CBA does something to stop this or the league will go into the toilet very fast. 3 or 4 superteams is what the NBA will have. Not intersting for anyone.

How about cancellation of the Dodgeball tournament??? He also mentioned on KFAN that he'll return to training camp really late this year...

Well certainly hope I'm wrong about this... and Deron does become a Jazz lifer.. I suspect the only way to be sure that he stays is if the following happens in '11:

1) Deron forms a formidable partnership with Jefferson;
2) Hayward becomes a solid rotation player; and
3) Jazz advance further into the playoffs.

Take an interest in Baseball? You've got to be kidding me..
