Does Jabari Parker have a chance at slipping past the 4th overall pick?

Vonleh's stock rising is the best thing evar, for two reasons IMO.

- picking him at 5 makes more sense, and gives us a solid chance at drafting an all-star
- growingly-higher chance of him sneaking into the top-4, giving us a blue-chip athlete

I was thinking about this in another thread, but I figured I'd read all of your thoughts on it in a separate thread:

I am praying -- PRAYING -- for very poor tryout-performances from Jabari Parker. It seems like he'd never get past Philly-- and if he did, he'd never get past Orlando. But, crazier **** has happened.

1) Embiid 2) Wiggins 3) Vonleh 4) Exum

pipe-dream I'm sure….but again: crazier **** has happened. These picks all make sense for the teams picking them. Orlando is pretty much set with promising youth at every position except point-guard. Exum/Oladipo/Afflalo/Harris/Vucevic is a strong core. Very, very strong IMO. Afflalo at SF > whoever they have at PG. Not to mention the fact that it has often been said that Orlando has heavily scouted Exum.

Given that Jabari Parker could have the most to lose in terms of measurements and athleticism in the top 4, what is the chance that he falls to us?

A pretty real responsibility to me is the fact that maybe Philly at 3 will say meh to Jabari, talk to Dennis Lindsey, and say "look, I'll give you Jabari at 3 if you draft Vonleh for us, and give us a 23rd/whatever".

So maybe he won't 'fall' per-se, but will a team be ecstatic for him at 3? Any chance that Jabari falls to the Jazz? I'd peg the probability at zero for Embiid and Wiggins, and pretty low for Exum given the amount of scouting/team fit for Orlando.

ESPN has them listed:
1. Wiggins - stock up
2. Embiid - stock up
3. Parker - stock down
4. Exum - stock up
5. Vonleh - stock up

Randle, Gordon and Smart are 6-8 (in order) and all stock down. So according to ESPN it is trending that way Dala. But then again it is ESPN...

Interesting, and good find. That definitely feels like how things have been shaking up so far. If this trend continues, I personally think that Jabari falling into our hands is a non-zero probability.

It could happen. Also a side affect of his stock dropping: the price of a trade is not as steep.

I think philly will say meh to Jabari but I don't think they tanked for Vonleh. I think they will pick Exum. Then all Orlando will need is an excuse to pass on Parker in favor of Smart. Maybe they swap picks with us for future GSW second rounder. It probably won't take much I think they have their heart set on a pg.

That being said it could all be a smokescreen and they could be just as excited about Parker as we are.

I'll hope dalamon's wish will come true same like last year when we got Burke. Dal, you need thread with bunch of Parker pictures, like last year you did with Burke. Maybe it will work then...

Favors/Gobert
Kanter
Parker/Williams
Hayward/Burks
Burke/Neto/Garrett

Then look at backup PF depth, a 3rd string big and a 3rd string wing to play SG and SF. That is 13 players...or even a starting big and make Kanter a backup...

Hire Messina and get ready for some growth and wins.

I'll stew over this idea over the weekend. Perhaps.

So, the main idea of this thread is that we hope Parker is so unworthy of reputation that he will drop to us?

Parker's last game he was 4-14 shooting and 0-3 from 3 for 14 points. Two Mercer players outscored him as did two Duke players. That performance to me looks like he's destined for the DLeague.
