I can't see the Spurs losing the series. Historically elite team defense including the best individual defender in the league. Deep. Home-court. Smart basketball compared to the Thunder who waaaaaay too often chuck and settle for bad shots. Spurs in 5.
The Jazz got what they could for an immature bonehead who couldn't get past his 3rd pick in the draft sense of entitlement. Sorry he had to play behind Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors who are all better players than he is. I'm glad he's happy playing his 20 minutes a game off the bench. If we hadn't made the trade Kanter would probably be in Portland. He's playing well. Good for him. I don't really care. I'd much rather have Lyles as our third big.The potential of trading Kanter ,can go down as the Jazz biggest f**Kup trade they've done and OKC's best trade ever.A 23 year old Center blossoming in the playoffs in front of the basketball world.
None of this has anything to do with the fact that he sucked on the defensive end of the court in a historic way. Could we have gotten more for him? Sure, except he and his agent were douches who hurt that chance and perhaps many other teams simply had no interest in overpaying for a one-dimensional player. Either way, as a GM, you're not going to win every move. DL's won most.
Imagine if we had Durant and Westbrook and knew we are still not really contenders...
Everybody who posts here knows that too. Of the 470 NBA players ,the Jazz had 3 players finish in the 400's (400's being the worst)in defensive ratings (Burke,Burks ,and Kanter).Kanter never got to play with Exum and Gobert.
So a healthy ,in their athletic prime Westbrook and Durant team are pushovers for San Antonio ,not even good enough to defend their home court.....Do you follow basketball
Not good enough to defend home court? What? They were 40-1 (maybe 39-2) at home this season. Do you follow basketball?
Wait, how does mentioning the 2014 Spurs (#3 defense) and 2015 Warriors (#1 defense) prove that defense no longer wins championships?
BTW Golden State only scored 107.3 points per 100 possessions in the NBA Finals, which was only a bit above league average. The reason they won is because they held Cleveland to just 99.6 points per 100 possesions - only the 76ers had a worse offensive output that year.
To credit their meh offensive performance over their Godly defensive performance in that Finals series would just be flat-out wrong.
You're just making sh!# up.
The Warriors eFG% was a pedestrian 50.3%, their 2P% was 43.6% (Lakers were 43.5%, 25th in NBA). How "extraordinary."
Warriors defense held Cavs to horrific 43.2% (lower than this year's Lakers at 46%, last in NBA).
So a healthy ,in their athletic prime Westbrook and Durant team are pushovers for San Antonio ,not even good enough to defend their home court.....Do you follow basketball
No are you a Dunce ? ......Westbrook and Durant are on OKC ,I didn't bring up Kawhi and Aldridge defending their homecourt
Did anyone else laugh out loud when Kanter got hurt tonight? Kanter makes it so easy to root against OKC. As if Westbrook wasn't enough. The league gives that team more calls than a playboy playmate gets on prom night.
Kanter posts blow.
**** that Moslem be hated in Utah.....https://newsok.com/article/5494580Kanter left Utah disgruntled, his game flawed, his defense ridiculed, his departure sour. Most saw the former third overall pick as a disgraced disappointment. But the Thunder saw untapped potential.
He had an elite skill — offensive rebounding — and an appealing age: 22.
Fourteen months later, his career has jolted to life. Kanter played all 82 games this season, tossed up 25 double-doubles, shot 58 percent, landed third in the Sixth Man of the Year voting and never grumbled about his bench role.
