Just looked it up... October 31 is the deadline to pick up that option... if we decline he is restricted but the most we could offer is up to his projected 3rd year salary... I'll say the same thing I did about TB... no one is paying him more than the minimum. Its only 2.2M for next year so I could see us picking it up... but I would gauge the trade market first. If he has more value if we pick up the option then move him. If you decline the option then look to use his salary in a trade because he is either gone or not worth keeping around.

Dok was a terrible pick and is now an exercise in sunk cost. If we can get a ham sammich that saves us on the tax we should take it.
I generally won’t complain about a draft pick right after the draft or pick. I usually trust the front office, but this Dok pick is the first time I’ve openly complained about the pick right off the bat. That tells you just how bad the pick was.

The Stars released their training camp roster today. DWade's son and Thurl Bailey's son are on it. There is a guard that was Malachi Flynn's back court partner on a team that went 30-2 at San Diego State, and a 6'6" dude from Fordham that was MVP in a league in Chile. The Jazz training camp cuts are there. I think they have to cut three guys from the list.
What? Thurl's son? I thought the man is old enough to be a granddad...

He gone... Don't even think about it. Picking up Tony Bradley's options has been costly enough

The issue with Doke is the man isn't built for modern day basketball. Similar to Boban and Tacko Fall. Those guys would've been starters in the 90's. But now it's all about mobility like 6'8 Bam Adebayo who can switch 3 to 5

I thought the D Wade son thing was bogus but Brendo (Thurls son) makes no sense. My son played with him and if he belongs in the G League I know hundreds of other players could easily fill in. Are the Stars having a hard time finding players? And I am sure I am the only one but for me the jury is still out on Dok. I am still willing to give him a shot.

Wasn't he injured for much/most of last year?
He was only out for about 3 months so I wouldn't call it "much/most" of the season. Remember he was healthy to start the season then didn't do anything for two months until he got hurt while playing for the stars in January. If he was good enough for an active spot on the roster he wouldn't have been there in the first place.

oh that's right, i remember this back and forth, let him get time for the stars, then bring him back for the bench depth. i still have high hopes for him.

I kept thinking that guys like Kyle Collinsworth or Trevon Bluiett would be better than the guys the Stars are bringing in. Bluiett is playing for a team in Turkey along with RHJ, Jordan Bone and Isiah Whitehead. Pretty good guard/small forward group.

Paschall (the real third C) is questionable and we're playing HOU (good chance of actual PT).

The Stars list Dok and Hughes on their 2021-22 roster. It would appear that both better put up gaudy numbers or say hello to Europe or China as their next stops.
