Donald Fires FBI Director who's investigating Russian Election Hacking

Three senior FBI officials can vouch for Comey's story about Trump.

"One by one this winter, then-FBI Director James B. Comey pulled aside three of the bureau’s top officials for private chats. In calm tones, he told each of them about a private Oval Office meeting with President Trump — during which, Comey alleged, the president pressed him to shut down the federal criminal investigation of Trump’s then-national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Those three officials, according to two people with detailed, firsthand knowledge of the matter, were Jim Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff and senior counselor; James Baker, the FBI’s general counsel; and Andrew McCabe, then the bureau’s deputy director, and now the acting director, following Trump’s firing of Comey last month. Comey spoke to them within two days of his Oval conversation with Trump, the sources said, and recounted the president’s comments about the Flynn investigation.

The White House and Trump have categorically denied Comey’s account, which Comey reportedly detailed in his own notes shortly after his encounter with Trump. Thus far, the allegation has played as a he-said, she-said between the president and the director he abruptly removed.

That no longer appears to be the case — it will be Trump’s word versus the word of Comey and at least three other leaders of the FBI."

lol vox!

A few thoughts on trolls and trolling. Imagine spending years creating an alternative identity, all to amuse yourself and a small handful of barely interested others. It’s takes an unhealthy dose of both dedication and delusion. Vonnegut said we become what we pretend to be. If you pretend to be an idiot by repeatedly spouting nonsense, the line between what’s real and what’s pretend first gets blurry, then one day there's no line at all and nothing to pretend about.

LOL LYING FOR YEARS ABOUT TRUMP GETTING PROVEN WRONG ON NOV 8 THEN DOUBLING DOWN! IS ALSO BAD

So what's the right's spin on Comey's prepared testimony?

And how about the DNI and Admiral Rogers alleged contempt of congress?

Why should they be any different than the rest of the population?

Honestly I am not sure how to read all this. Maybe a wash? The President still looks the same but no real dirt has been found.

Correct. It will be interesting to see how the right wingers spin this. I'm sure they'll do all they can to discredit Comey, whine about the MSM, and attempt to deflect by focusing on foreign affairs.

But this my friends, is clearly OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE:

I took some time to read through everything. I find it to be believable, reliable, and substantiatable testimony, and I agree completely that it's obstruction of justice. Trump strongly implied on multiple occasions that if he wanted to keep his job he'd better drop the investigation. And then when Comey didn't change the investigation, he indeed was fired. Damning.

It's going to be interesting to see when the House begins to distance itself away from this Trump disaster. I know they've hopped onto this rotten carcass in hopes of shredding social programs, gutting environmental regulation, and reforming taxes. But Trump is sinking and sinking fast. The question isn't if but how many republicans lose seats in 2018. When do they abandon him to save themselves? I can't imagine that things get any better in the coming months. And if the senate is unable to repeal Obamacare before July, then they never will.

If I were a Republican in a competitive seat in the House looking out for my own interests, I'd want Trump to be impeached sooner rather than later. If it's sooner, there's at least some hope of getting stuff done in the coming year prior to the 2018 elections. But if this drags on another year and THEN Trump gets impeached, then you're going to be toast in the 2018 elections.

As a non Republican I hope Trump doesn't get impeached. It will be better for other groups if he stays in. If he gets impeached pence or Paul Ryan if pence gets implicated will look much better in comparison and are likely to be re-elected.

For me I'm putting everything else aside and wanting Trump gone. He's bad for the U.S. in a way that is above and beyond politics. I'd happily give the Rs what they want for the remainder of the term and possibly beyond to be rid of Trump.

There is a lot more to it. For me I think he is bad but I think the push back against him, the fear that will lead to reeling back the power the president wields, and a few other things will have a long term positive impact from his presidency. I also think that Pence will be a much more effective president and lead to some bad things. He is a person that is not a conservative but someone who pushes his moral agenda which include being opposed to gay rights and womens rights as well as wasting a **** ton of money on a stupid hurtful cause that is the war on drugs.

I am also not sure I want any Republican in office right now with their official awful stance on gay rights. I also dont know if I want may Democrats in office either right now. I really want a actual conservative group to take power that is not pretending that human rights issues and moral right issues are somehow conservative issues.

That was a pretty sincere sounding testimony. More importantly, it was very detailed. If the guy is lying then he'd have to have plotted something long in advance with all his notes and calls to his superiors, AG's office, etc. Why would somebody set up something like this that far in advance? They're smart and cunning, sure, but it doesn't ad up to me.
